ok general question but when you folk go grocery shopping:

Would you rather do it once a week or everyday?

 

once a week, espesh since safeway took out self checkout. not up for that level of human interaction!!

 

I end up going like 3x a week. I don't like buying a bunch of stuff at once cause sometimes i get invited to dinners/lunches and stuff and then the food in the fridge goes to waste.

 

would you rather eat a thousand sloppy Joes or five hundred cans of SPAM?

these aren't good sloppy Joes either

no, you don't have to eat the can unless you want to

 

1v1 I go spam....but in higher quantities the sodium from spam is gonna get to me

 

I cooked bacon for the first time today. Not sure why I haven’t before. First batch was burnt but the second was perfect.

BLTs may be my favorite sandwich.

Forget pan frying bacon. Cook bacon in the oven or on a George Foreman grill and thank me later.

What temperature do you cook it at? We tried bacon in our oven once and it took way too long to cook. To be fair, our oven can be hit or miss.

 

You know, I haven't really done it in a while, but somewhere around 400. I don't remember it taking any longer than doing it in a pan, especially since you can cook a whole pack or two at a time instead of just a few slices in a pan. Plus you don't burn yourself or get grease everywhere. Bacon always comes out evenly cooked, and as crispy (or not) as you want it.

Anyone ever go to any star chef's restaurants?

Going to NYC this weekend and making a stop at the Comedy Cellar. Bobby Flay's restaurant, Gato, is close by and the menu/reviews are pretty fantastic.

Its my first time going to a high profile star chefs restaurant and I'm pretty pumped!

 

I've been to a restaurant that Aaron Sanchez owns in New Orleans

he wasn't in the back cooking or anything tho

 

Yeah, I can't tell you any by name besides Frontera though

 

I've been to Michael Symon's main place in Cleveland a couple times. Really good.

 

McDonald's raised the prices on everything due to minimum wage going up and now I'm sad.

stupid capitalism.

 

I've never eaten at a celebrity chef's place before but I've walked by a couple of them, if that counts.

 

I think it definitely counts. Please share the deets.

 

Jim Gaffigan wrote a book about food. And I'm reading it.

So I really wanted yams with the marshmallows but I was using my only dish I could make it in so I decided I'd make them in the microwave. So that went about how it sounds but to add to it I only had the Minions marshmallows my nephew picked out so they are now green. Taste-wise.... Edible.
