So I'm playing through Prey and I have no idea what the fuck is going on, where I'm going, or the point to any of this.

 

Lol the intro of this game is the only good part. My heart is breaking for arcane.

 

For the casual observers, this is the segment where they put together their Top 10, from scratch.

 

I can’t wait for personality based gaming “journalism” to come to an end, the peanut gallery is so goddamn tiring.

 

Personality based criticism makes sense (like in music and so on), the problem is that a lot of critics are terrible. Jeff Gerstman is good though, he knows games to an extent that is almost unparalleled. GB in general is well balanced.

 

officially have over 80 hours of horizon zero dawn, can't remember the last time i have invested this much time into a game. so damn good.

 

Oh yeah, here's my 2017 list:

3. Golf Story
4. Bury Me, My Love

Honorable Mentions:

South Park: The Fractured But Whole. I got it for Christmas, barely had time to play it, but I'll probably love it more than some games on my list.

Yakuza 0. I lost interest at some point because of the pacing, but it's cool and I'm excited for 6.

Old Game Of The Year: Stardew Valley.

I skipped a lot of indie games because I'm waiting for Switch versions.

@Your Milkshake ill add this to the Nioh discussion: of most people I talk to, I’m the person most down on the game and even I respect the hell out of it.

 

It'd be interesting to know the ratio of people who've played NieR:Automata to how many put it on their EOTY list.

I mean, it's obviously 1:1, but it'd be fun to confirm.
