Prince Royce came thru recently and I was jealous af! Latin artists will pretty much never come here cause there's not a huge market smh.

Don't eat at Quiznos! Most of the shopping is downtown on 5-7th ave, which is kind of a touristy area. Some cool stores, though, like the Nordstrom flagship. It's a little on the nose, but Pike Place Market really is cool if you explore the lower levels, full of vintage stores.

Coffee: Try Milstead & Co, Slate, Seattle Coffee Works. Can't go wrong with any of those. The Starbucks Reserve Roastery is really cool too, and in a nice, walkable neighborhood.

Great food is everywhere. Eat it all, just not chain restaurants.

I think Fresno got a bunch of great Latin artists this year which is weird because it's always been known as the country hot spot.

My town has grown on me. I like that there is a small lil faction that has good food and love for the arts and stuff. I appreciate that those ppl are trying to improve the town. Could do without the conservatives and being hours away from the nearest shows. It has spoiled me cause rent is cheap and everything is five minutes away. There are just so many concerts I miss cause it's too far. And there aren't many resources or opportunities.

I'm close to concerts but I'm really bad at going to them. I'm always backing out of shows at the last minute. I like music but hate people!

nooo i'm so jealous. There are so many shows I wanna see but miss cause I have to be selective. The gas ends up being more than the ticket + the hotel if I get one and don't drive back home the same night. I miss living in Portland where it was as simple as walking ten minutes to the venue!

I know, I'm the worst! I need to find people to go to shows with. It's easier to commit when there are people you're planning on seeing there. I've driven 16 hours for a show before, but have trouble convincing myself to go to the ones a 10 minute drive from my house.

like I said it's cool how a bunch of concerts come here but I'm super into hip hop and they really come here.

My next concerts are most likely in Sacramento, SF and LA.

I create content for some of your favorite artists

I would totally live in Oregon. No sales tax, less people in the entire state than the city of London. Sign me the fuck up

What do you consider small? People from cities always say my area is small (the main city and smaller neighboring towns equal a little over 200k) but I always consider small to be like 20k or less. Depends on perspective I suppose.

I still tell myself that if I do decide to leave fresno, I head to Medford, Oregon because I am a terrible person.

Gonna go for the triple post and say something relevant to the thread.

My wife and I have been struggling off and on (more on than off tbh tho) over the past couple years. Last Saturday she told me that she has feelings for another guy, and it was just like a huge wakeup call to me that things are worse than I even thought. And like, I can totally understand how it happened. We've both just gotten really complacent in the relationship.

After that, I opened up to her about something that I had been keeping from her for about two years now (not infidelity or anything) and it did not go over well at all.

We spent all of Tuesday and Wednesday apart, didn't talk or text or anything. We had never gone more than a day without texting in the almost 9 years we've been together.

We started working through things on Thursday and things have really been amazing since then. We both feel closer to each other than we have in YEARS, and I just feel this happiness I haven't felt in a long time. It's really true that trials can bring you closer together sometimes. We both just said "if this is the thing that tears us apart, then so be it, it was meant to be" and it's just been the total opposite from that.

Super rambly but fuck yeah, I feel like I'm falling in love with my wife all over again.

My town is less than 17k which I consider fairly large for a small town, actually. The towns surrounding us with less than 1000 people are def worse off so it could be worse! But I think the smallness feels compounded because it's rural. Not being near a city is tough. Like the nearest mall is an hour away. If you wanna go to a show it's a few hours away. If you want decent medical care that's at least an hour away, and 3-5 hours if you want above decent. It wouldn't be so bad if I was near like... anything lol.

Gotcha gotcha. Yeah I think that would be tough for me too. The actual town we live in is 16k and I love it. It's cheap, super quiet, and obvs v safe. But 15-20 minutes away is a big mall, nice downtown with a huge farmers market and kinda dope art scene, good hospitals, tons of good restaurants, etc etc. I kinda like that all that stuff is not like, just down the road because we'd probably be broke lol.

that does sound ideal! I loved living in the city but I wouldn't mind a smaller town just outside the city. It felt very isolating here as a teenager. Especially moving from socal to a rural area. I was never able to fully adjust to that. I often hear ppl from big cities say they wanna move somewhere quieter and small. Def a grass is always greener situation lol
