Did people not like Canto Bight? I thought it was a nice twist on the normal hives of scum and villainy we see in the star wars universe.

I think the general consensus is that it was the weakest part. I genuinely enjoyed it, and the aesthetic. Agree that it’s a nice twist to the scum and villainy angle.

Maybe Luke 'visits' him there. Could be interesting. Maybe he then kills all the porgs to appease the fanboys ...and me :P

My cynical nature made me think of a cash grab the first time I saw them, which sadly the movie did nothing to assuage. Oh well, to each their own!

I liked the tidbit that they could not, under penalty of law, move or chase away the Puffins native to the place they shot the island scenes. They created Porgs to place over the Puffins that would inevitably get in their shots.

Yeah, I read that. Clever in a sense, though how hard is it to digitally remove them? I don't remember them in any of the shots in TFA.

I also expected the porgs to be a cash grab but honestly they were used just the right amount IMO. Quality comedy relief without overkill

    I can’t wait for April.

So I can buy the heck out of this film in 4K.

I will also echo the sentiment that Luke should’ve used his green saber. That’s my favorite one.

The maintainers of the island >>>>>>> Porgs

Give me The (probably) Nameless Island Friends: A Star Wars Story. I'd be more excited for that than Han Solo

First thing my mind jumped to when the cave scene started. It’s a really cool scene and I wish it didn’t have that link in my mind.

The more I read about puffins being the inspiration for porgs, the more a freaking love porgs.

Wife pointed out that the focus of the shot when Leia is talking to Rey and says “We have everything we need...” is Luke’s broken lightsaber in her hands.

    Nice touch.

    music and baseball.

Saw it again today. I really enjoyed this movie more so the second time around. Wasn’t bothered by anything other than Finn’s subplot, which didn’t really isn’t bad. Rey and Kylo was brilliant. And I enjoyed Luke. Luke’s interaction with Yoda was just great writing, imo.

I just feel like Rian didn’t know what to do with Finn and his story suffered. It felt like too much was placed in Finn but nothing completely developed. Finn’s struggle with the ambiguity with light/dark wasn’t developed well and neither was his discovery of bravery. I wish his subplot focused solely on the latter, since we got enough struggle with light/dark in the Rey/Kylo story.

The development of Rey and Kylo is so good. I can’t believe there are people that see no development. I don’t get it.

Also, some of the humor wasn’t as noticeable the second time. The tone felt more serious and seemed like it wasn’t misplaced. Although, some of it was. Which is my gripe with the humor. Not the presence of it, but rather that in some spots the humor came too quickly after a serious scene. Like when the aliens complained about the hut after a Kylo/Rey connection.

Loved the movie more than TFA. Maybe not as much fun, but better story telling and development. My complaints are minor. I’m not mad at anything. I want to go again in IMAX.

Since the blue lightsaber broke, someone's going to be using the green in the next episode.

Looked like Kylo force pulled the green saber out of Lukes hand in the flashback
