They're all terrific, but Smoke Signals is my favorite. So many great moments in one song.

I just love Phoebe's haunting delivery of the line "that song will creep you out until your dead" and the line (in general) about Bowie.

 

I love the Twin Peaks-esque guitar on Smoke Signals.

 

I will be perfectly fine if there’s never a bracket in this thread.

 

Cool cool moving on, this record is fantastic.

 

After begging my friend to listen to this for a month, she finally caved today. She said she was crying a minute into Smoke Signals and had to stop at Funeral, so yay (?)!

 

Sounds about right. First stage is deep, unbearable sorrow, then comes appreciation.

EDIT: Also, was gonna buy a shirt from her website, but it came out to like 30 dollars with shipping and tax. Tf? I know it's probably printed on fucking Gildan, c'mon. If anyone knows where I can buy that black metal logo shirt, let me know.

 

Biggest surprise of the year, and my AOTY. I feel like she kinda fills the void Carissa's Wierd left in my heart.

Motion Sickness might be my least favorite. It was the first song I heard and I was like "eh," but was blown away by the rest of the album. Fondness for Motion Sickness has grown and her cover of "You Missed My Heart" gives me heavy chills.

 

I already loved Motion Sickness, but the Tiny Desk performance of it made me love it more.

On the most recent episode of The Watch, Jason Mantzoukas talked about being obsessed with this album, as well as crying while listening to “Smoke Signals” in his car driving to a HDTGM taping. Another reason to love him.

Just listened to this for the first time a few days ago.

You Missed My Heart is a killer.

 

I got a sheet ghost with the word killer tattoo obviously a connection to this album. I tagged phoebe in the IG story when I posted it and she responded back to me. Pretty cool lol. Now she knows I’m “that bitch” when I see her twice in February.
