  1. I can understand criticisms of the movie, I can't understand this level of hyperbole ridiculousness at all.

Idk who you watched but most of the reviewers I follow love the movie just have some problems (which mostly all involve Canto Bight)

Third time made me love it even more.

Star Wars is pretty much the only thing I ever rank. And this third viewing solidified TLJ’s spot, (at least for now). Though overtime I may move 8 up one, but for now, it’s where it is.

    5>4>7>8>6>R1>3>1>2>TCW

Luke and Leia’s scene hit me really hard this time around. Something else hit me more this time, but I’m spacing on which part. I know it was early on, but I can’t recall what set me off.

I know this franchise is technically Space Fantasy and not Sci-Fi, but can someone explain to me how gravity works in these movies? It seems kinda fuzzy in some scenes. Leia gets sucked out of the ship and floats in space (makes sense), but the bombs are clearly dropped onto the First Order ship while in space like 20 minutes prior. And in Rogue One, Vader’s final scene where he walks out on the departure deck after failing to get the Death Star plans back. I’m sure there’s many similar scenes in the original trilogy like that too. Does it have anything to do the proximity to a planet or some invisible barrier?

We reach for the longest shadow

bombs have a magnetic pull somehow. I'm not sure why they pull to the opposing ship instead of their own, but they do.

Yea well it got me too lol

The luke and Leia scene it’s just so hard for me not to see mark and Carrie and then i think of his panel at celebration and him choking up while talking about her.

I just think it’s beautiful that he was able to say bye to her without knowing it while shooting this scene before she passed both with the actors and the characters.

It sucks as a movie. Really it’s just a 4 episode arc of the show they tried to put together as a movie which was stupid. The show is really good. One of my favorites. Some of the arcs are boring but you’ll like it the more you watch.

Also it might make you enjoy Anakin skywalker which is worth it alone

  13. Just make sure you watch the clone wars in chronological order and not episode order

Clone Wars the TV show is great. He's talking about the movie that came out right before the show.

I'm trying to think of a list of the most asinine complaints people have with the film. What gold have you all come across so far?

Just the movie... mostly because it’s not really a movie but episodes thrown together presented as a movie. I like the first “episode” of it though.

The series itself is solid. Handles Anakin really well and actually shows his and Obiwans friendship. It also help show his descent into darkness in subtle ways. Padme is decent in it. Obi-Wan is great. Ahsoka is one of the best in it and her journey is so good.

I recommend it, as I think you get more out of it... but you could get away going in release order.

How do fans reconcile that important characters like Ahsoka and the other new characters in the series arent mentioned in the PT.

That the space lasers arc is by far the greatest asinine complaint.

Canto Bight, Leia flying, the humor, and Holdo not telling Poe the plan are the main recurring criticisms I see. They're all valid, but I don't necessarily agree.

My take is the humor was a little jarring on my first viewing, but some of the jokes had more depth to them second time around and it didn't bother me as much. BB-8 is a little too much at times though.

Canto Bight is fine by me up until they fathier chase starts. Even then, I really like the fathiers wrecking the casino. But then it drags a bit and just feels out of place. I've said it before, but I would have just had them set the fathiers loose so they can wreck shit, then use the distraction to steal a ship. But that is such a small part of the movie that it doesn't end up bugging me that much. I enjoy the world building and DJ as a character and his role in Finn's arc so overall the Canto Bight detour works for me. Could have been executed better, but it's not awful.

If Holdo withholding the plan from Poe bothers people, I can't fault them at all. The way I see it, Poe was just demoted and he's running around acting like he owns the place when Holdo is trying to get everything organized. She gives him orders to go to his post. She has no reason to suspect he's going to plan some crazy mission. Of course, I'll admit, she could tell him when he starts the mutiny. But at that point it's already too late and so why not let it play out and see if it works? I've never been in the military, so I have no experience with how chain of command should give orders, but this seems fine to me.

The Leia flight looks odd, no way around it. It's another case of I like the idea but could have been executed better. But again, we're talking maybe 20 seconds? It's one small thing that doesn't kill it for me.

The meat of the story is between Rey, Kylo, and Luke. Johnson knocked that so far out of the park. Like no matter what was around it, it would still be a good movie because of the core story line. It's like having LeBron James on your team. You can put a bunch of scrubs or hall of famers around him. Either way, he's still going to get you to the finals.

Depends on the character... some die, some are specifically off on their own doing something away from the war, some are small enough that they wouldn’t show up in the context of what the movie shows. That’s the in story stuff.

Outside of the story? Lucas didn’t know ahead of time to include them in the movies haha
