Also it’s always crazy to think that Keef is only 22 and he dropped that album at 17. Like this is still only the beginning of his career hopefully he’s got so much more to give us! :)

Are Talib Kweli's later albums worth listening to? I think the last one I heard was Revolutions per Minute

The new one is good, before this one I haven't cared about a Talib release since the last Reflection Eternal album. Can't be sure there haven't been good ones though.

Yeah the new one is what has me interested in going through his stuff from this decade (and Revolutions per Minute is the last Reflection Eternal album lol)

Looking through the tracklists he at least has some really good features on Prisoner of Conscience and Gravitas so maybe I'll check them out

I loved Revolutions per Minute. That was the last Talib project I could get into.

If Dip Set put out a new album/EP and it's not entirely by the Heatmakerz I'll be very disappointed.

this could've been written in...any year? rap has been a dominate force in pop and pop culture for so long

Yeah these takes have been a thing this year because people spent more money on rap than on other genres for the first time or something similar (which is probably only record sales/streams of very narrowly defined genre, not spending tied to the larger culture which has like been huge and dominant), but that's such a narrow view because pop has been all about rap and r&b for so many years now that the lines have been so blurred
