Microwaving fish is bad enough on its own, but at least have the courtesy to do that shit in the privacy of your own home.

 

What about microwaving parm

I love everything about parm but some people are not fans

 

Not as bad as fish, or broccoli/brussels sprouts/smelly veggies

It's no secret that parmesan cheese shares a flavor/scent component with vomit (butyric acid). But context is key.

 

I think it depends on how it was cooked. If it's just like steamed broccoli it's fine, but if it's been cooked, refrigerated, and the reheated, there's often a lingering smell of veggie garbo.

A big problem is that a lot of people do not know how to microwave or reheat food properly. If you're reheating food, you do not put it in the microwave or oven straight out of the fridge. That starts the cooking process all over again so you end up with terrible (and terrible smelling) crap.

You've got to pull it out of the fridge ahead of time and let it warm to (at least close to) room temperature.

You also have to microwave things covered, so that they heat more evenly, and only until they're slightly above the temperature you want to eat them at. Don't just reheat food until it's as hot as the sun!

Also, you're welcome for making your lunches that much better if you're not already following these steps.
