yeah but it was rumored for months for Bray/Orton to be a lock for mania

 

Yeah the Bray/Orton feud made that pretty obvious to me

 

I recall nearly all of us being pretty shocked at Bray Wyatt winning there, no? Or am I flip-flopping when he beat AJ and Cena with this?

 

i think at least the more dirtsheeting NERDS like myself were all pretty sure he had it won but there was still that glimmer of surprise because it was Bray Wyatt winning literally any match

If you read enough dirt sheets, isn't literally every possible scenario spelled out for you in advance?

 

you're giving dirtsheets too much credit. outside of Meltzer and Satin everything else is a shit-show and usually stuff like "word is they're looking at a Strowman/Kane/Lesnar triple threat" well after anyone with a pulse had considered that idea.

 

I don't fully remember last week let alone last year, but I'm pretty sure Orton was already with the Wyatts at that point and we all knew he was going to turn on Bray eventually, so the Mania match setup made sense.

I get Mick's point I just don't remember ever being shocked by an EC finish since they slotted it in between the Rumble and Mania.

Closest we got was when Santino almost beat DB in the Smackdown match but that would have been a HUGE shock.

edit: I guess whatever year Swagger won was a surprise too but that was also when the WHC was the clear B title

 

I'm not giving or denying dirt sheets anything. I'm simply saying if you read all of them, how can you every be surprised by anything in WWE? Literally every possible scenario in the world has been "reported" prior to an event if you read enough of them.

 

Bray winning EC wasn't shocking, I think the more shocking thing about that was him going over AJ and Cena completely clean

 

no i'm just saying dirtsheets really aren't all that encompassing or informed, a lot of stuff breaks day of show and by that point i'm totally tuned out. these long-term spoilers are really only prevalent during mania season and watching them change and be wrong is fun.

 

Randy winning the Rumble was definitely a surprise, but, once it happened, it became very likely that Bray would win EC.

But as @Mick said, I avoid dirtsheet stuff this time of year for precisely that reason...if you dont see that Randy is predicted to win the Rumble by the bookies, that was pretty genuinely surprising.

 

I don't do 'dirt sheets' I do listen to Alvarez and Meltzer daily though, I don't mind knowing stuff ahead of time.

Yeah so I mean, I get like its the OG "Dirt sheet" but the way websites are these days are a complete joke to compated to WON. To the point where I don't consider WON a dirt sheet, and the show is mostly like a sports talk show, just people bitching and complaining. It's funny, I really enjoy Alvarez. It's not like a 'oh so and so has TONS of heat and that's why Vince booked it that way' type of show.
