Too bad you didn't like it, I would say to listen to Blue Sky Noise once since its a little bit different than OLG, less proggy more rocky.

 

Circa have their moments, and those moments were 10 years ago.

 

I really enjoy Circa Survive’s new album. With that being said, I would much rather listen to This Day Forward.

my main problem with Circa is the same I have with new Converge, I've been listening to them my entire adult life and at this point it's just redundant to me. They're still sick but I'm getting deminishing returns from their output at this point.

 

Wtf, new Converge bad mouthing is even more blasphemous!

 

I've been listening to mewithoutYou my entire adult life and do not feel the same sense of redundancy I feel with Circa. But this conversation has been had one too many times imo

 

yeah because mwY's records sound nothing alike, which is why they're one of my top 3 fav bands.

 

The new Converge is far from redundant.

 

Circa is cool I'm sure, they're just not for me at all personally

Ma dude. We aren't disagreeing at all lol. I'm merely pointing out that it's not Circa's longevity that is their downfall, it is putting out boring material.

 

I like this album mainly because of Homeboy Sandman's flow and his unique personality/sense of humor. I totally understand why someone could find the production a bit boring :/

 

well, yeah. I mean god knows Radiohead have been around forever but then Kid A happened and everyone went HOLY SHIT. Circa just keeps making Juturna.

I really liked the Amulet too tho

 

I love Circa but I can understand the “diminishing returns” standpoint for them. They’re not reinventing themselves with each release, and imo Juturna is their best, so I kinda expect “more of the same” from them. Not in a bad way, ‘cause they’re good at what they do, I’m just never really blown away or wondering where they’re gonna go next.
