I’m so excited that there’s so many possibilities and directions this could go.

Re: the trolling theory... I immediately thought that when I saw the RT score Friday morning. However, it's gone from 50k to 105k reviews since then, and the score has only dropped more. I can accept trolling may be a factor, but I really don't think it's overwhelming to the point the average would be >70% without it.

Anyway, just saw TLJ a few hours ago and my initial impression was mixed to negative, but it's certainly something that needs time and probably multiple viewings to settle on.

I don’t believe this theory but with the information we have from this movie it could be true.

So came back from watching a third time.

The funny thing is of all 9 Star Wars, this one probably ranks at number 4 as most stuff I didnt like just behind the prequels. A lot of it was just because it was too much in one movie. It fit the story, but it was just too much. The subplots drew too much away from the meat of the movie and you didnt have time to live in each scene.

But despite having so much i didnt like its still my favorite and favorite of all time because of all the good. The good is so heavy that it buries most that I didnt like.

Also my friend argued that Snoke never planted the visions when they touch and that he just created the connection. I thought Snoke said he showed Ben turning specifically.

Anybody else remember if he did?

  6. It’s not a theory, my god, go look at the Nazi websites you know exist ... it happened. They’re making jokes about it still. They have bunch of sock puppet accounts they brigade on sites with. They have done it with other movies. Go check the user reviews and look at the thousands of one review accounts that went with a zero score (which is hilarious). This is easy internet research.

A great movie, but a lot of unanswered questions.

-How did Snoke come to power/become familiar with the dark side?
-How could he be so powerful, but not notice Ren was focusing on him?
-Why did Luke have to pass on?
-How are they going to write Leia out of the story now that she’s the only leader left?
-Where are the Knights Of Ren? Why were they a prominent part of Kylo’s backstory when promoting TFA, yet never touched on again?
-How can the rebels have any resources left to fight the First Order now? No one answered their distress call.
-If Rey was a nobody, is that proof that the force just randomly chooses children to be force sensitive and that’s that?

ugh. here we go. If theres anything we should learn from the Last Jedi, we need to stop this. Not that they are wrong for doing them. Dont mean any ill will. It just makes me roll my eyes. Kylos scar is in a different place than force awakens. I guess that means its not Kylo. Or Kylo's just a projection from Snoke. He doesnt really exist!!!! Midiclorians are moving the scar less in the middle of his face because hes imbalanced.

These theories often forget the whole movie making process and assume it cares about this very small portion of fans that give a shit about every minor detail. We need to stop getting so attached to the mythology and obsessed with these symbols and actually use what the mythology/symbols mean to improve our lives and the world. (Im saying this to myself as well).

    I really liked this.

I think that the theme of this movie is a reflection on the fan relationship with the original trilogy and learning to making peace with the move past it into something new. It feels like a reaction to The Force Awakens in that way. The Force Awakens wanted people to remember the Star Wars that they loved from before. The Last Jedi wants them to understand that Star Wars can't be that same thing forever, but change is not just okay but necessary. The Force isn't just about Light and Dark, just as Star Wars isn't just about Skywalker and Vader. It can be about Stormtroopers, junkers, technicians, or anyone who believes in hope and freedom. It's honestly powerful stuff the more I think about it.

Now watch JJ Abrams miss the mark entirely and make a pleasing but empty finale. Fingers crossed that he has discipline this time.

Why not? It makes Rey and Kylo diametric opposites. Kylo Ren is the dark son from powerful blood and Rey is the force of good that came from nothing. If there's one thing that can be learned from Luke's Force lessons, it's that it is not just for Jedi control. Theoretically, anyone can be sensitive to the Force. In this case, it just happened to be a nobody.

cool, so what did you and everyone else think about Luke passing on? Will he return or is he really gone? He is really powerful as seen in the Last Jedi scene with Kylo. The Yoda scene was fantastic haha.

Fav moments: Ren/Snoke/Rey in the throne room, Luke at the end, finn vs phasma. Loved the porgs and I thought I would hate them, and the comedy felt right to me.

I agree. Sucks that we won't have Leia in 9 tho now, seeing how powerful she is too, although personally I didn't agree with her living in the space scene lol

One thing I found cool is when Han died I literally teared up in the the theater, but with Luke I was at ease because he did all he needed to

  23. Did Luke’s Jedi planet that I don’t wanna spell always have two suns? Or is that a special Tatooine callback when he ghosts?
