  1. not like this band has ever been that interactive, but it does strike me as odd that this news has been out there for a couple of days and they haven't officially acknowledged it yet

Band has run its race, members all seem to be married/in long term relationships and wanting to settle down, they’ve probably taken things as far as they’re ever going to go etc. Must get tedious doing the same tours with the same bands in the same cap. venues and never really progressing beyond that level. It’s disappointing they’ve called it quits but not at all surprising imo. At least Light We Made is a fantastic swan song.

I have to disagree. They just did a tour with circa and thrice. Jon definitely doesn’t want it to end. I know the drummer Bailey doesn’t want to quit. Their audience size is growing they did headlining tour last spring. They don’t need to do this!!!

Bands can still do headlining tours and still keep playing the same venues and cap sizes, therefore not showing growth in their audience size

Just because any of them wouldn't want it to end doesn't mean anything though. Financial reasons and mental health play a factor, too.

Do you guys not think they could make it big?

Not bigger than they were with Separation/The Things We Think We’re Missing. I’d rather a band call it quits than continue doing something they don’t want to do.

I guess this last album just killed them. They strayed away from the hard rock that got all their fans. I’m so depressed over this

You have no idea why they're calling it quits though.

Why is this funny? I just don’t think they realize how many fans they have that love them

Hey man, we all can't be like you Supporter

Well you referred to them as "Hard Rock" so... that's a bit humorous.

Also: Fans loving you doesn't exactly make touring mentally or financially worth it. They haven't exactly "Taken Off" the way that some of their contemporaries have, and they've made it pretty clear that since the crash they were in, touring isn't something they want to be doing full time.

I'm honestly shocked it didn't happen earlier.

That doesn't matter. Your love for a band does not mean more than their mental/physical health and financial stability. Stop.

hey guys, i think you're being too hard on someone who seems foreign, or something. post history proves there's some misunderstanding or something, just let it go

  21. mental health aside, bands break up all the time. the guys just don't want to do it anymore and that's fine. i can assure you they're aware that people are fond of them lol they don't need to rethink anything

The first 2 Albums were amazing . They could have built off that success into a huge following. They just lost some fans with that last record
