I don’t judge film based on my 12 year old POV though....

I was so tired after my first showing. But I literally thought about it on an hour drive home and laid in bed posting here for like 2 hours until almost 5am. Then posted all Friday morning. Now I saw it again. I like it far more now.

That’s not what you said though initially. You just said it was cool in a blanket defense of it. As an adult, I can safely say it was not shot in a very exciting way.

My theater was mostly empty last night (I saw it at a random theater in Queens, I'm not sure how it was so empty). One man in front of me kept checking his phone and another girl a few rows in front of me was texting and her phone's flashlight would flash when she received a message. SO FRUSTRATING.

That doesnt mean he was relevant to the plot of THIS movie. Everything on Canto bight meant essentially nothing. I did love his arc throughout the movie and it did add the movie and story of Star Wars. I just meant the plot and the actual battle. If he wouldve taken out the canon it wouldve meant something to what was going on with them escaping.

It also meant he somehow carried rose back to the base a very very long way of in a couple minutes.

And Ill agree stakes doesnt mean death and actually dont like that complaint either so that was hypocritical of me. Also considering the rest of the movie and how big the implications were its not a fair thing to say.

15-20 minutes in somebody's alarm went off and didn't turn it off for at least a minute. I was pissed.

It doesn't usually bother me so much if it were a random movie, but c'mon. It's a new Star Wars, a movie people have been waiting for... be considerate for once in your life

Ok. I liked it when it came out, I liked the video game, I liked the concept. Sorry

Holdo’s moment is way cooler the second time around. Knowing the audio drop Out is coming helped me pay attention to the crowd reaction.

Initially it was absolutely silent. It was such a cool feeling. Then one guy went “ooooooh” in a very “respectful” way. Haha! It was great.

I like character and theme more than plot, so I loved everything on Canto Bight. I found it every bit as important to what this film was going for as the Rey storyline was. I know I'm in the minority, but I'm fine with that.

I also loved GOTG vol 2, which a lot of people thought was unfocused, so clearly I'm more open to unfocused plots than the average viewer. Make me care about every character and make the journeys all thematically related, and I don't care how much the actual events tie into each other.

Off topic: am I the only one that thinks the trailer for Civil War looks awful?

Edit: Infinity War, not Civil War

I mean, the movie was alright. The trailer is kind of old now.

I mean, my Marvel hype has died down now that I have Star Wars back.

I think it looks fantastic, but it appeals perfectly to my tastes, which aren't everyone's tastes.

I'm certainly not interested in bringing a debate about how Thanos looks into an unrelated thread with its own hotly contested decisions to debate, lol.
