Kylo

 

It's gotta be an unhinged kylo. Just let him go full off. Give him a new phasma or something maybe, but I want Kylo to just go scorched earth on the rebellion.

 

This had the same problems as TFA for me, and also the same strengths. Adam Driver’s easily the best part of these movies

 

No idea. Kylos character is in a place that Ive never seen his archetype go. In total control and supplanting the big baddie. The Zuko/Snape/etc. comparisons are totally out the window. At this point can the big baddie be redeemed? They set that up the whole movie then when the time came he chose to rule

Im hoping for the Knights of Ren being introduced finally and being a part. And possibly that Forceback scene to be in the next movie

 

kind of bummed we didn’t really get to see Luke ignite the green saber in an actual action scene.

 

loved the "can you like put a shirt on or something?" line

Kylo is the big bad. I think we’ll see a time jump and he’ll have one or more apprentices.

 

The Jedi Skype thing is so fascinating to me. It created such an interesting dynamic for them. Rey/Ren is 100% the most fascinating aspect of this series.

 

I'm seeing so much Twitter hate for this movie. I guess I understand some of it, but one viewing is not enough to immediately write it off as a phantom-menace-level misstep.

 

I hope someone puts this on YouTube ha love his interviews

 

idk how anyone can say this is prequel level bad, but i saw a terrrible take on facebook this morning, someone said "the last jedi makes the phantom menace look like the shawshank redemption." and i just wanted to log out for the weekend.

 

Those type of people are trash. Block them.

I feel like I'm going to need to see more of Kylo doing badass dark side stuff to feel like it's an actual threat. I mean, Rey bested him untrained essentially, and with what we saw of his rebellion at Luke's temple, and the Knights of Ren, I REALLY hope we get to see either flashbacks of Kylo leading the Knights of Ren, or see him do more.

 

I think after killing snoke and being unable to kill luke, he will be drunk on power and menace. i expect a much more villainous kylo in the next movie. unsure if i want to actually see him die at the end or not.

 

I think that is the question the saga wants to answer again. What do you do with those type of people? And when do you act if you choose that option? Can it be too early? Is it ever too late to choose not to act on it?

 

This is what I want. I want him to rule with an iron fist. I want storming a jedi temple and murdering a bunch of children evil. Full on100% drunk with rage and power villain. My favorite aspect of Ren has been his tantrums. Just the inability to control himself. I want it cranked to 39573%.

 

I just want another great SNL skit.

 

I feel like Yoda's quote to Luke, "The greatest teacher, failure is." is an idea that permeates most of the story threads. I'm not sure what I think about it yet, but it's a different lens to look at it through. Did the characters learn from their failures in a meaningful way for the final episode? I don't think you're wrong in being frustrated though. I really hate when characters just talking to each other would solve major problems, but such is life.

 

I would love a scene in the next film of Rey, Finn, Rose, Poe etc all just hanging out together and talking. Doesn't need to be super long, I just really enjoy hanging out with these characters.

 

This thread's spoiler blocks are annoying to me, lol. I get it's opening weekend, but if you haven't seen this yet and care about spoilers, just stay out of the thread? Oh well.

Anyways, I'm weirdly glad I didn't get to see this last night. I think reading these polarized responses will inform my initial watch in a useful way. I'm thinking I'll end up really liking a lot of what people hate.

2D IMAX is always the answer. For any movie.
