It sounds like someone doing their best impression of Ben Gibbard, but not nearly as confident. I didn't think that would be the most controversial statement I've made in this thread haha. With that said I'm not writing off the whole album, I'm sure I'll get used to it

The new Special Explosion album is definitely a grower for me. It's good, but not my type of music typically. It's the kind of album I'd enjoy listening to while studying at a coffee shop on a snowy day. Gladiator is probably my favorite song so far...the rhythms in that song are pretty dope.

That Special Explosion album is good but not great to me yet. I'm also not going to write it off. I think it will be a grower. I definitely don't dislike it. Going to play it a second time at some point today. Nice surprise this late in the year.

i spent all day yesterday listening to death metal so my opinion on what a majority of this site listens to primarily will always be an outlier. anything that's not metal, hardcore, or affiliated with the barnett brothers at this point is likely going to be a grower for me. *shrug emoji*
