The thing I truly loved about this was how the playing field was basically leveled by the end. Like I had expectations for IX, now I have no genuine idea how the trilogy will end and I really like that.

 

Same. And it’s clear Rey is getting more powerful and the rebellion is still growing, but is all kinds of fucked right now.

 

I really wanna see it again. Wish I could have a Blu-ray copy right now.

 

how easily snoke ended up dying was kinda a bummer, after how much he was built up.

I did like the force projection trick though. A lot.

 

I think IX should take place years after TLJ, in the midst of a galactic civil war. Both sides have fought long and hard and now they are at the end. Rey has trained a new group of Jedi in secret but so has Kylo with the Sith. The final battle is a massive duel between Jedi and Sith as a massive battle takes place in the background.

 

I announced it in the theatre and people still came out and said the sound broke. So yeah people are really stupid

 

I thought it was kinda refreshing how quickly he died, but I wish we got a little more back story or something

 

I’m sure the books and comics will lay that out, I want more about him too.

 

That’s what I thought too. Because of how he was used in TFA to give us a bad guy, I wanted more out of him. To understand. And now he’s just gone and Kylo is the kinda dumb big bad guy.

It was like 15 seconds lol. Someone went “holy shit it got them all” when it happened in my theatre though, which caused laughs when I wanted to be somber.

 

Huge fan. When he moved the broom I got a huge smile. Great little call back to ANH too.

I would say for the most part I loved the movie. Only real complaints are Leia flying through space, and the whole casino scene with th space horses. Felt like a scene out of Fantastic Beasts.

I feel like this was made for the thread. Spoilers galore btw of course

 

More training of Rey and her learning woulda be preferable to the casino stuff too. The dark side pit was great stuff. But I wanted to see her growth more as a Jedi and person. Not sure I got that. It was mental learning, some saber stuff. But she left early and I wanted more Rey action.

 

I liked it. Felt like Yoda, good message and advice about Luke and the Jedi and his place in the world. Failure line was classic. CG was a little rough around the puppet at first though.

The reason Rose felt how she did I liked though.

 

I really like how we now view the Jedi and who they are, were, become, and can be. That alone was price of admission and series making.

Absolutely. In a way, it’s a redemption arc. Like I feel like IX will be the capstone of that, how they once fell from grace but then re-emerged and become the guardians they were meant to be. Don’t fail me, JJ.

 

Agreed! at first I was really worried about it, but then ended up loving it. Felt sooo much more like Yoda then he did in the prequels.

I also agree with this. I liked her character a lot. I feel like Rian didn’t know what to do with Finn.. I wish he didn’t have to write in a whole storyline for him and we coulda got more Luke and Rey. I probably woulda liked the casino stuff way more without the space horse escape. Just didn’t feel like Star Wars to me.

 

I’m glad I read Leia: Princess of Alderaan. It gave me way better understanding of who Holdo is. I just wish we got more Laura Dern because she makes everything better.
