Devils play tomorrow night in Montreal so Dallas will be there waiting for us Friday

Plus we will likely be without Hall, Palmieri, and Johansson so our lineup will be doo doo

I love waking up to find out about a comeback win.

That Marchand OT goal was stupid good. If he was getting this ice time and PP time for the first 4-5 years of his career he would have scored 30 every year

 

I remember them parading around him and Jimmy Hayes as the marquee summer 2015 additions like it was yesterday.

I still think he has something left in the tank, but yeah, we could use that space

 

he had 8 goals in that playoff run for Anaheim

he has 18 goals total since signing in Boston

 

His chemistry on a line with Kesler and Cogliano? was crazy. Too bad he couldn’t replicate that.

We all knew he’s not a consistent 20g guy, but some of it was straight up bad luck

 

David Clarkson is probably stoked now everyone will mention belesky instead of him for terrible contract.

Clarkson's was still worse. Higher cap hit and ridiculous bonus structure made it buyout proof. They just found a way out of it.

 

Hopefully Beleskey can piece things together and get back to being a solid role player. You can't blame the guy for taking that contract from Boston. Just massive oversight by Boston's front office

 

I don’t even think the sub-4million cap hit was bad if he performed like his first year, where he had good chemistry with Krejci. But 5 years was way way too long

 

Is it more of a Julien vs Cassidy thing though? Thrived in one system, but nearly died in the other.

 

He wasn’t good last year under Julien either, but he was also hampered with injuries

 

at least the girl was stoked he won the car lol.

Anyways, happy to get a point tonight with that shit lineup

 

That contract was awful as soon as the ink dried. It seemed unanimous that it was a horrible deal on the internet. He had a fluke year in Anaheim and cashed in. That’s the biggest issue we’re seeing with free agency at this point. The guys that make it to UFA in recent years are guys who aren’t legitimate top end guys, but have had some success at the NHL level. So you see Beleskey cash in hard on one year because of the way his game is molded, only to fall apart right after. Some guys fall hard, some just never replicate prior success, but teams still pay year after year for whatever reason.

 

That type of shit is always funny to me: when the entire hockey world can see it's a bad decision except for the people actually making the decisions.
