I am very hesitant to use this word, as there are people who go through awful things every day, but I legitimately feel like that video of the cop killing Daniel Shaver lowkey traimatized me. I don’t go a day without thinking about it. I don’t know if I have ever felt so horrified or anxiety ridden than I did when watching that video. I cannot imagine the terror that was going through Daniel’s head. I just can’t stop thinking about how powerless we are when dealing with cops. They can own us at any moment. Like, that could have been me, ya know? It legitimately terrifies me

 

Also, it should be noted, that the officer who shot Daniel was not the same guy screaming orders. So, you have more than one psychopath in an organized gang. It’s fucking sick

 

I've been around alot of cops, carry majority of them are fantastic people and great cops. A few I know of have definitely not been and are currently in prison for it last I heard or are no longer in the force but that's just my experience

 

I don’t know how ranking works, but my cousins husband is like as high up as you can get on the LAPD. Great dude, I love him. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s the entire institution that is fucked. It needs to be burned to the ground and brought up from ground zero. That’s not going to happen, but something needs to. I’m not opposed to the idea of cops, I’m opposed to the fact that they are militarized and cater to a lot of trigger happy psychopaths

 

The Philandro Castile video really traumatized me.
