I know there are traditionally midnight shows but mine is at 9:30pm tomorrow, is that normal?

 

Yeah for Thursday releases for these huge movies it is. My showing is at 6pm.

 

Kinda irritating that the only way to say a Star Wars movie is good is to compare it to Empire. Empire is great, but people need to stop treating it as a gold standard of film. It’s severely flawed, just like all the Star Wars films. Personally, there are things I can point out in every episode that I adore and things that I absolutely detest.

No Han Solo trailer on this

 

I didn't think there would be, I would maybe expect the first look for that to maybe come during one of the NFL playoff games or maybe even the Superbowl. Would imagine they'd wanna maximize exposure to release the first teaser or trailer. I think they'd wanna let TLJ come out and get that buzz before they start promoting Solo.

Not gonna be able to see this til Saturday, most likely, but I can't keep myself away from impressions/review threads (though still desperately avoiding spoilers) just because I love reactions and man oh man, this is DIVISIVE. I am almost more excited based on that alone.

 

I really hope I’m on the happy side of the dividing line, because if I’m not, I wasted endless time anticipating and obsessing over this haha.

Worth noting, i felt super mixed about TFA on opening night, fucking loved it after another viewing. One of the TLJ reviews by someone i trust says it reaaaally needs 2 viewings.

 

i haven't seen anyone yet say the movie was straight up bad. just some people who did not like the decisions made. i am so ready to be broken out of my SW comfort zone.

 

just accidentally saw a video on twitter that was of the title and opening crawl, fortunately none of the actual crawl was revealed but feels good to know its reaaaallll and so close.

 

SO pumped to read the crawl.

 

Saw this at a midnight screening in Melbourne last night.

Lots to say, but I'll wait till' a few more of you guys have seen it.
