This observation from BuzzFeed’s Alexis Levinson — that very little of the attention in the race has focused around Jones — seems important to understanding why the race is close. Jones always had a better chance of winning a race that was a referendum on Moore’s fitness for office than one where voters were focused on his fairly liberal policy positions. He largely seems to have succeeded in framing the race that way.
