We welcome all opinions here. And we love all opinions here even if we disagree with them respectfully and vehemently.

Ex Eye is p good though as far as Liturgy-related projects go.

I just admitted that I'm going to a deathcore show tonight and the thread accepted me. It's all good, here. But thanks for giving me another side to the story. I liked what I heard from them, but then read a bunch of negative shit.

Right on. I'll check them out. It's all new to me, so as long as it sounds good, I'm down.

Man, I was so pissed I missed that shitty deathcore tour, lol. I would've been all over that if I'd been able to go.

    lol

I actually enjoy the more recent output from Whitechapel and Carnifex to a degree but neither one is anywhere near being one of my favorite bands or anything. Rings of Saturn are total wank though.

RoS is fun to listen to but I honestly wonder how much of that stuff is actually played versus being programmed

I remember that being a whole debate that's still ongoing around them. I'm pretty sure they do a ton of programming and editing in the studio, even if they can still technically play the songs.

It came from some meme that stated if you swapped their faces, they’d look like some rad synth pop group and I agreed

So This Is Suffering were fine. They played as a 3 piece (vocals, guitar, drums) and had most of the rhythm stuff playing as a backing track.

Entheos also played as a three piece, but were MUCH tighter. I didn't realize the vocalist was female until seeing them live. She (and the guitarist and drummer) did a great job. Probably the highlight/biggest surprise of the night.

Rings of Saturn did nothing for me really. It was just too much. There'd be a cool riff/section but rather than expand on it, they'd just shove 200 notes into a measure and play as fast as possible. People were into it though.

Carnifex was good. Basically what I expected from them. Nothing extraordinary, but still really solid.

Whitechapel were okay. I've seen them a handful of times and I felt like this performance was a little phoned in. They sounded fine, but didn't seem totally into it. They only played one song from This Is Exile (my favorite album of theirs) and the rest of the set was kind of lackluster as well (aside from the Defilement stuff, which was cool, I guess) - I was just drunk/high enough for it to be a fun time though.

Hellfest has had a diverse lineup for years. It’s quite a big site and other than the main stage they tend to split up the other stages by genre so apparently it works quite well. I’ve never gone myself but it’s meant to be a great festival.

I mean, if I lived nearby and it was affordable, I'd probably be there.

I'm just remembering the American festival that was mostly hardcore bands.

A load of my mates did it for a few years running years ago. I always wanted to do it but could never afford it at the time. One of my mates bands are playing it this year, it’s a shame I’m on holiday that month already otherwise, I’d consider making the trip over to France.

No idea where else to post this, but this seems like the most applicable thread:
