They were fighting hard against the MA marijuana legalization bill. Not the most evil thing in the world, just bothered by the general hypocrisy of them essentially trying to do to another industry what they always complain about big beer doing to the craft industry.

Ah makes sense, I was unaware of that.

I get tired of them saying how they don't chase trends and then like 8 months after the trend has died out they come out with that trendy beer. Just stop saying how you're innovative and do what you want and don't want to chase trends if that's what you're going to end up doing. It's okay to do what makes you money, just don't lie about it.

I’m with you there. I think a lot of what they do is just ok but Boston Lager is a really solid Vienna Lager. Also biased because it was my first beer. They should just own what they do well but I get trend chasing with how competitive the market is. Would be nice if they were just upfront about it.

There’s stuff they do that I really like for sure (Boston lager is solid as hell) but yeah. Just don’t say things then go against them haha.

Holy shit I found CBS and BCBS at the local supermarket. Apparently no one knows it's there

So I picked up CBS at my local liquor store tonight, they actually had a lot left, not sure when they got it in. I was honestly hesitant to pull the trigger on it because I haven't liked most of the bourbon barrel-aged stouts I've tried (I know, I'm weird) and because the price tag is definitely steep. Gonna save it for around Christmas I think.

first, that capone's list was insane. only been there once, I obviously need to go more.

second, I've seen BCBS all over the place in Philly. I feel like the supply drastically outweighed the demand this year.

Yeah, same. The Flourtown Acme had dozens left

Damn, I wish it was like that in Michigan. Here, the best places that move the most goose product only got 2 cases and it was only BCBS, nothing else, not even barleywine.

it's wild how it varies. I've been seeing posts online about how parts of NYC got cases of CBS meanwhile it was slim pickings down here in philly.

I'll gladly give up a CBS bottle for some variant of bourbon county :)

I've only seen the regular stuff, not the barleywine or the coffee - if I had seen the other stuff, I would help!

Best Breweries around the Grand Canyon region in Arizona? google maps turns up Black Bridge Brewery amd Grand Canyon BRew Co. There's a bunch of others in Flagstaff but that would be slightly out of our way, unless someone says one of them there is can't miss and/or way better than those other two I listed...

Picked up a sixer of Cedric's Pale Ale from the Biltmore Brewing Co. when I was there the last two days... nice light beer, wasn't expecting much but definitely enjoyed it. They had a brown ale too but not into brown ale too much.

It took two weeks, but this is finally showing signs of refermentation. It was bone dry before I added the fruit, so I'm curious to see where it ends up at after this.

North Coast Brewing's Cranberry-Quince Berliner Weisse is a really solid and inexpensive festive sour beer. It honestly drinks more like fruit juice, the cranberry and quince flavors are both really strong. But the sweetness is balanced by a nice tartness. I had one around Thanksgiving and I picked up another to have around Christmas.

Fresh Stoneface Mozaccalypse is something else. Canned today. If you get the chance to try Stoneface I highly recommend anything they make.

Speaking of which, who are everyone’s favorite breweries from their home state? I’m from New Hampshire and it’s Stoneface, Garrison City, Smuttynose, Earth Eagle, and White Birch (even though I’ve only had their Berliners) for me.

I'm from California so there's a lot of options, but having lived in Monterey for the past 6 months, I've grown to love Alvarado Street. I've yet to have a bad beer from them, they do pretty much everything well.

Michigan: Founders, Bells, Witch's Hat, Speciation (I finally came around to the hype train on them after they started making sours more up my alley). To be honest, there is a TON of mediocre beer in Michigan.
