I’m thinking there’s a reason they don’t consider that particular shot a “spoiler”... it’ll likely depend on the context of the full movie. Just imo.

mark hammil said in an interview this past week "we're being sent around to publicize a movie we can't talk about, and promote a movie that needs no promotion what so ever. great job disney!"

I was watching old Star Wars movies and saw a lot of things that I've been thinking about, they probs won't be relevant at all in this movie but the cinematography of some shots are very similar to some I've seen in the trailer

I think a lot of what we are seeing in trailers and tv spots is misdirection. I like to believe that one of the if not THE most secretive franchise in film history isn't going to knowingly/willingly put anything out there that is going to spoil it.

at least that's what I tell myself when I see some of these scenes in the commercials lol

Just randomly saw a new trailer I haven't seen where

Rey uses the red tri saber. Granted it was against the evil storm trooper dudes but still didn't wanna see that

what I'm so far most interested in, and i'll spoiler tag it for those who haven't seen trailers or have been avoiding,

the events that lead to rey going from ach-to to whereever it is Snoke is. Does Kylo come to ach-to to take her? if so will we get some good kylo/luke interaction? is this possibly the "this is not going to go the way you think" moment? does she seek out kylo/snoke and go herself? at this point i don't really want to make any predictions and let myself down haha. i predict i'll have a hell of a time in the theater!

Nothing too far out, but Luke saying "it's time for the Jedi to end" leads me to believe that he's discovered a side of the Force that is limited by the black and white nature of the Jedi. He's supposedly spent years in isolation and I think he has come to see that the Jedi were kinda small minded in their approach to the Force, where everything seems pretty clear cut. He's probably dabbled in the dark side of things and I bet he wants to teach Rey (maybe with some initial hesitation) and she turns out to be much more adept than he originally thought, which scares him.

It's for IMAX right? He's on both posters, the light and dark sides. Definitely deliberate hinting and/or misdirection.

Luke and Snoke are the 2 Sith. Kylo is a faux pawn of Snokes. Snoke uses Luke to get Rey.

The real Hans still cryo frozen.

    Maz is Yodas wife.

I hate that I read this and was like "WHY NOW ALL THE SECRETS ARE REVEALED" even though I'm like 99.9% sure this is a joke

I'm honestly only interested in Maz because Lupita Nyong'o is too good an actress to not get some good character development, but also still wanna know how she got the saber.

I’d say they’re killing it with the spoiler tags haha. Appreciate the thread not ruining anything, but yea with all the tags I’m afraid there’s not much going on I can read or be involved in.

Here’s something though. My wife and I were just talking and she said she wished Luke had died instead of Han in VII, something I’d never even thought about. At first I was kind of shocked, but after thinking about it, I’m on the fence. Anybody wanna chime in on that???

well for Luke to have died he would probably need to have been involved as much if not more than Han, which would mean likely an entirely different story. So idk if I can speak to that because we don't know how that story would have gone.

Han dying was sad but definitely necessary to give depth to the Kylo story arc.

For sure! I think in the scenario Luke would have died, TFA would have been a much different movie. Her saying that was more based on how much she loved Han and how frustrated she is at Luke’s character. I guess I had never really considered what if different characters would have been killed off. Thought it was interesting.

I don't really think there was much else that could be done with Han's character. The main SW saga has always been about the Skywalkers.

The early reactions/buzz have been so glowing that I can barely think about anything else but how much I want to see this movie now haha... might end up having to go dark the last few days to avoid spoilers, I don't want to ruin my first experience of what sounds like a truly special movie.

I actively sought out reviews and reactions for TFA just because I needed validation that the movie would actually be good, and was comforted specifically by Patton Oswalt's tweets and Rainn Wilson's tweets after they attended the premiere. I have gone out of my way much less this time around just because I think I KNOW it will be amazing, but I want to go into it without someone elses thoughts and critiques in mind.

Same, for TFA I ate up and consumed every single promo and teaser possible. It was so awesome to have SW back after like 10 years. Now, I know a lot less because I'm not looking at reviews/theories and I've avoided any promos for the past several weeks.
