I just saw an ad for Walking Dead’s “mid season finale.” Is this just an accepted thing now?

 

Yup fall finale/ mid season finale

 

That’s silly. I remember being very upset when they did that with Mad Men

 

Oh cool. Rejected from three separate writing jobs at the travel channel on the same day.

 

People complain when they don't announce breaks and when they do

 

But this is like a more recent trend right? I haven’t watched a whole lot of TV in real time. I don’t remember that with LOST though

 

Bruh lost for the final few years only aired in the spring, and had an episode each week, no gap.

 

LOST did it for the couple seasons before it moved to being an almost entirely uninterrupted show starting in January instead of September like typical broadcast shows. Walking Dead, outside of the shorter first season, has always aired the first half of a season from from ~October - December, then comes back for the second half in February - April. Midseason breaks aren't a new thing, the problem people had with Mad Men was that it split its season into two (very short) halves a year apart when typically midseason breaks should only be a few months.

 

The Walking Dead is a blight on society. AMC needs destroyed.

Someone in another thread referred to The Walking Dead as the, “Big Bang Theory of dramas” and I feel that is perfect.

 

Except the first season of TWD is magnificent and that can’t be said for BBT.
