I feel like there’s been more secrecy surrounding this movie than there was even for TFA and Rogue One... and personally I’m starting to think Rian Johnson has at least one BIG shock in store. I may be overthinking it, and I know they don’t want to just make this an Empire clone by making it the “middle movie with the shocking plot twist”, but it’s just a hunch I’ve had that’s only gotten stronger with all the interviews/hints about this movie being “unexpected” and “surprising”. I trust that if Rian does try something like that it would serve a strong narrative purpose and not just be for shock value, so I’m excited to find out if I’m right.

I dig Kylo. I don’t really understand how he’s perceived as weak. Sure he has internal conflict (which makes him interesting) and sure he took a blaster bolt to the stomach, but the force powers he uses are some of the craziest we’ve seen on screen. His temper tantrums are a little lame, I’ll admit that.

I don’t think it’ll happen, but I’d love to see him stay full dark side. A part of me doesn’t want to see him take the Vader route and be redeemed, but if they pull it off in a different sort of way, I’d be cool with it of course.

It's in a fucking promoted tweet on Twitter! Like WTF! Of course I'm going to get it the first thing on my timeline every time, I only post about Star Wars on Twitter. I'm so mad about it TBH. Whatever. Still less spoiled than I was last time. I looked at as much as I could.

Was listening to a podcast, A Storm of Spoilers, and they started getting into some speculative stuff that I didn't expect them to get into (since they said that they didn't want to get too much into the spoilers that are out there) and there's a part in the episode that I sorta regret listening to (if it's true) and a part of me that is more intrigued/hyped. Otherwise, that episode is a great listen ha (The Rian Johnson episode).

Edit: "RIDLEY I got to meet the porgs, but also, I’ve gotten about 300 questions about the porgs. What’s the big deal about porgs? They wouldn’t even be able to fly. Their body-to-wing ratio is like a chicken. They can’t!":crylaugh:
More porg fun, if you need a chuckle:
"DERN The more I went on about how adorable they are — it was like looking into the eyes of E. T., I loved those eyes so much — Oscar only continued to talk about different recipes.

I geniuinly feel bad for Jake Lloyd. Dude was a kid that got to be in a Star Wars movie and then spend the rest of his childhood/life getting ridiculed for it

Freeby poster roundup, figured someone in here would be interested!
Not sure if anyone in the U.K. is in here, but just in case: One free poster when you book tickets at UK Odeon Cinemas Real D 3D screenings until Sunday December 17. These are pretty neat -- they are by Matt Ferguson.

These available via Disney Movie Rewards. The one in the middle is free I believe. Check it out!

Also, Fandango has new poster available when purchasing tickets for anyone here in the US. It's the IMAX version.

I never thought he gave a bad performance, he was literally like 8 or 9 when the movie was being filmed. He was born in ‘89

that jingle all the way performance tho....

Yeah, world premiere in LA. The red carpet is being live-streamed starting at 5 PM PST.

Personally I’m probably gonna check out some spoiler-free reactions from critics I trust. I’m really curious what the overall reception will be.

Finally wrapped up the prequels for my lead up to VIII. It took me 8 days to get through all of them haha. I still maintain that Revenge of the Sith is my least favorite. I don't want to start another 10 pages of prequel bashing, but I'll just say I found even more things to hate about it on this last viewing.

I also think I'm done watching those ever again. On to the good ones!

My personal take is that there are things that are improved from the first two, but it still both suffers from a lot of the same flaws as the first two AND suffers from the fact that it’s following up those movies as part of a trilogy. The moments that are supposed to feel poignant and emotional often ring hollow when the first two movies didn’t make us invested in the characters in the first place.

For me, it's just that Anakin's turn is so sudden and dumb. It never works for me. And then they keep adding reasons for him to turn after he does that make no sense. Like he just suddenly agrees with Palpatine that the Jedi were plotting to kill him and overthrow the republic? It's like dude! Come on! Literally ten minutes ago you sent them there because you found out he was a Sith! I get that he now had to fully embrace the dark side so he could save Padme, but maybe give him a little hesitation or have him so a little conflict.

But after this viewing, the dumb thing that caught my eye the most? This:

Why the hell did they put a cape on him while he was on an operating table? The rest of the suit is probably vital for his survival, but the cape is a little unnecessary. So stupid! It might be dumber that this bothers me though haha.

Haha, I said I didn't want to get into prequel bashing and I did it anyway. I promise I'm done. It's time to move on to good movies now.

Oh yeah, I totally agree with you. It’s like Lucas wanted to make sure that EVERYTHING was wrapped up as neatly and perfectly as possible and EVERYTHING tied into ANH, at the expense of the actual flow and cohesion of the movie.
