Whatever happened between TBS and Envy on the Coast? Didn’t they have a falling out after that tour/when Fazzi was removed?

 

Brian Byrne allegedly slept with Eddie’s then-wife (not really confirmed by anybody but they DID divorce, she did briefly date Brian Byrne immediately after, and Adam’s formspring alluded to “everybody in that band not being what they seemed”). It was just conveniently around the time Fazzi was removed.

 

Two things: 1) holy shit, didn't hear that one. 2) lol, Formspring.

I'm still dying for the new again bundle from release. With the car and fuzzy dice.

 

I had one. The car model was cheap plastic and dice wasn’t fuzzy dice. It was a flat cardboard “fuzzy dice” air freshener. My worst experience with a bundle order ever.

 

I never really got a good vibe from him. Super talented guy and I love that band, but I was always put off by him. I've met Ryan and Sal though and they were cool. Really chatty and laidback.

 

Remember "Follow the Format?" That song is so cool.

 

The air freshener that allegedly smelled like new car? I got Matt Rubano’s “license.”
It was very gimmicky/fun when it was announced but the quality was a let down. On the other hand, it wasn’t $50 for a dinged up vinyl and some old flowers.

 

Is that what the special edition for SF ended up being?

 

A poster, a slipmat, some dried crushed flowers/potpourri, the vinyl (black, not colored) maybe some other things? But definitely underwhelming

 

I got a poster with the standard version.

I have the self titled signed album cover sized prints from s/t release. I'd honestly trade it for the new again stuff.

 

I've got the self titled signed prints too. I was pretty disappointed by it, the artwork was overall not great. Though, I suppose I should have guessed that by actual album cover.

 

I think I may end up purchasing New Again on vinyl. I passed it up the other day at the record store, but eventually I'll probably grab it. It's my second favorite TBS album, but it has enough redeemable tracks to purchase it again.

 

I saw it at the record store last weekend too. I should have bought it. IDK why I didnt. Thats such a great summer album for me.

 

I was waiting on new again because I thought they were doing a colored variant to coincide with the LN and ST albums. Doesn't seem like it anymore.

Never fully understood the hate for that one.

 

I was indifferent to it at first bc of the lack of dual vocals. Stylistically I thought it was a nice change up for them though. It’s not a bad album.

The wordplay with the word 'Coughing', and 'Coffin,' I've always thought was cool.

'Make this glass house my coffin,
you missed the big picture,
Well it's the words that your coughing out'

Also, the there's that part of the second verse where they switch up the verse melody which is dope as well.

 

I always thought Alkaline Trio did that best coughing/coffin word play....and for years I missed it because I was always concentrating on the imagery of the last line and totally missed the word play.
