since my partner didn't respond I took a rec from all the cool people (and a few non-cool people) in the Movielife thread to listen to O'Brother - Endless Light. I will post my thoughts on it after a few days.

If anybody wants to listen to the album I was most likely going to recommend feel free, I'd love to hear thoughts on it.

I love Relationship of Command, but I still think Deloused is better. It's so interesting to me and was unlike anything I had heard before. Both are incredible though

Tim Kasher - The Game Of Monogamy (recommended by @navidson)

So, I must admit at first I wasn't enjoying this album that much. I guess that my personality and Tim Kasher's (or the way he presents himself in his music) are quite different. The album is largely about marriage and cheating and those are things I can't relate to right now. However, looking at the greater picture, I think most of these songs are really about growing up and looking back at the things you did when you were younger and realising how stupid you were.

Eventually, I started liking this album more and more with each listen. Once I began to experience these songs from a third person perspective, it made them much more enjoyable. Sometimes it feels like this could be the soundtrack of a musical. It's like the lyrics and the instrumentation are having a conversation. You can tell Tim Kasher paid much attention to detail. Overall, it is an interesting album that grew on me over time.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Very cool, glad you liked! I'm not even sure how I came about these recommendations because they're pretty different, though Until the Quiet Comes was my album of the year in 2012, so I guess my brain gravitated towards that with all the year-end stuff going on. I've listened to that album more times than I can count—one of those albums that I just need to listen to front to back. It's such an incredibly emotional experience through almost purely sounds considering the limited lyrics on the record. I think you should check out the "Tiny Tortures" video too, just because it's cool.

@manoverboard365 Both great, but I prefer Gorilla Manor. "Cubism Dream" is my favorite song by them...seen them live five times and they haven't played it yet.
