stunned at how bad Benfica have done in the CL this year. Literally only scored 1 goal the whole campaign - seeing as they were a pot 1 team that has got to be the worst campaign in CL history?!

 

Weirdly enough, both CSKA away and Basel at home were much easier matches for us than either Benfica match lol. But yeah they were shockingly awful.

 

It is statistically the worst campaign a pot 1 team has ever had.

 

I wonder what pot they would’ve been in had they not gone to the league champions pot 1 format.

 

Pot 2 I imagine, but their team is a low pot 3/high pot 4 team at best.

 

I'm calling it now, the final four the the Europa League SHOULD be Arsenal, Atletico, Leipzig, Sporting (assuming they all do not meet before the semis). Dortmund & Milan are rubbish atm, Lazio just aren't strong enough, Napoli will focus on the league and lack depth.

 

Both Benfica and Porto used to be regular last 16/quarter finals teams but they've tanked the last couple years imo. Remember when Porto used to have Falcao, James Rodriguez, Hulk, Danilo and Alex Sandro as FB's, Otamendi and Mangala when they were actually good. They were my go-to FM team around 2012!

 

I would put Villareal instead of one of RBL and Sporting, but agree with Napoli (rightly) focusing on Serie A - Would love a 2-horse race between them and Inter.

 

Just seen that Liverpool actually broke the record for goals scored in CL group stages (as well as PSG, who got more) - I am dangerously close to backtracking on my "Liverpool's attack is actually weak 'cause they need a 20+ goal striker" stance lmao

 

They also have the Prem's leading scorer in their ranks...

Haha, I hope he does - not just because he's been in my FPL team since day 1 but because he's a genuinely great player. Him and Mane are brilliant.
