I had it mostly completed and then I stopped updating for a year. One day I had this brilliant idea to delete the whole thing and start over since I had added/removed a bunch of records.

    Worst decision ever!

It has, but it could use a reissue because you can't find a copy for under 90 bucks.

I don't think I would have the patience to delete and start all over.

.moneen. - "The Red Tree" needs a re-press.
Originally released by Dine Alone Records and only available on tour, I think. They pressed 300 then.
After that they did a RSD pressing in 2012 limited to 500.
So only 800 copies of that album exist. That's crazy.

I'd also love to see Ryan Adams' "Live After Deaf" boxset re-pressed but the price tag on that would be scary!

The Red Tree is one of my all time favorite records. So naturally it's one of my favorite albums I own. I wish everyone could own a copy.

Really impressed with the recent Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now? pressing.

Voices is the next album I want to be pressed. They were working on it earlier this year and were supposed to have them available for the few shows they did to commemorated Voices. But I guess that never came to fruition.

Would also love a pressing of Biology - Making Moves.

  7. Wow, Biology. I haven't thought of that band in almost a decade.

I still listen to Making Moves once a week. Can't explain the impact that record has had on my life.
I miss Moneen too. Speaking of The Red Tree on vinyl, those two bonus tracks + the demos included on the bonus 7" are just as good as the rest of the album. Moneen has a solid collection of b-sides.

I need a reissue of Taking Back Sunday's Louder Now. Too bad Columbia isn't down

New discogs app feature is a nice solution to my first world problem of trying to pick a record to listen to.

Thank you for this. I had recently added the internet page to my home screen. I'd been wanting a Discogs app for ages haha. It's actually really good too

Yeah, it's great! There's a few features I want that I hope they add in the future. Like the ability to manage multiple accounts, submit releases and organize your folders.

Yeah, that would be good. I like having it to keep track of everything I have. I have bought a few records off the Discogs website also. Glad to finally see an app released

Yeah, I love Discogs. Always fun to look at the estimated value of my collection too. Granted, I will never get as much as I paid for it, but it's nice to dream.

What got everyone into vinyl? I'm always curious.

My dad was a music guy, had a thousand albums (that I now have) and a killer set up. I started collecting years before he passed away, but since he passed a few years ago, I've upped it tenfold. I think I use it to feel closer to him again.

    That got too serious. Lol

I started buying records at shows around 2003. I wasn't an avid collector until 2009/2010 when my sister got me "Closer" by Joy Division on vinyl for Christmas '09. Since then, I have been exclusively buying vinyl. My dad has been letting me take portions of his collection for the past few years which is great because he has a lot of first pressing of some great albums.

I wish my dad took good care of his records he had hundreds but he didn't take good care of them by any means. And then after he passed my mom stored them in the basement in record crates and then stacked them on top of each other. I'm lucky any of them even play.

Back before I knew any vinyl lingo I remember seeing a post on ap.net saying a Departures album was being repressed. I thought it meant CD so I ordered it, and when it came in I thought "huh this is pretty cool." I started buying my favorite albums on vinyl because I liked the big artwork and now it's my primary physical media.

That's awesome, thanks for sharing! I've always loved music and physical media. I was that kid in high school that carried his Walkman and binder of CDs everywhere. Used to be a bit of a show rat as well.

When I moved away for college, my first apartment of my own was right next to the local record store and a scuzzy punk bar. Catch a show, hit up the record store, rinse, repeat. haha

Next Show - Foals April 22nd

I guess my story starts a few ways. My mom was a vinyl collector when she was younger but after I was born and we moved her entire collection sat in storage until I showed an interest and went to go get it when I was about 16 or 17. At the time I was super into classic rock so getting albums from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Doors, etc was really cool to me. Unfortunately I didn't really have any audio setup or any knowledge or how to put one together for that matter. For the next 2 years or so it sat looking pretty.

Part 2, the real beginning started around 2010 when I was 19. I went to see Alexisonfire and part of the VIP was a super limited edition pressing of "Insulation Tapes". I had to hear what was on there and get a setup put together (albeit a terrible one). This is when I started pre-ordering limited editions of my favorite bands albums and figured going forward this is how I would collect. I had built up my own collection of about 20 records and eventually caved and got myself a real setup. It all snowballed from there and now I'm thousands of dollars deep. I love it so much but god dammit my wallet doesn't.

Right after I started getting into vinyl and started to use my parents' old equipment I went to dig up their old collection, only to discover mom had tossed em out. Still a sour point with dad.
