For me, the biggest disconnect was the new Rainer Maria album. I wanted to like it so badly, but maybe in the future I’ll get into it.

I like Story overall more as a band than the others, but LP was my most listened to new album this year, 2nd was 36 CF which impressed me a ton. Rise Against really tool it up a lot from their last few releases too and put out such a good album. I just had to be honest even though SOTY are my boys.

That new acceptance record ruled too

Having a hard time with the brand new record because I was obsessed with it and cannot deny the impact this record had on me in those first few weeks following its release. I really enjoyed the record before everything hit the fan and hadn’t had that type of experience with an album in a long while. I have good memories of my own that are triggered by the music. It’s my time capsule.

Between listening to not much that has come out this year and one of the albums that would have made the list being omitted after recent events, I now present you with a paltry top 3:

    2. Foo Fighters - Concrete and Gold

gutted to see only one other person mention Smith Street and for it to be in the 20's on that list. one of my favorite records period and a bonafide classic. puts After the Party to shame and Menz are my second favorite band.

I want to really retool my list and make sure I listen to everything in my top 15-20 this week before solidifying. Theres a few things that have been surprising me that may craw their way in and push some other things out that I thought were sure things like Tigers Jaw and Citizen. really enjoying everyones lists so far and can't wait to check out a few things that arn't on mine or that I havn't heard yet!
