Daydreaming and Glass Eyes are instantly in the top 10 of their catalog for me, with several others that could find their way in. The majority of the songs are phenomenal, and Burn the Witch is either the weakest or second weakest.

What's crazy is that I'm pretty unhappy that they stripped TLW down to nothing, but the rest of the stuff is so good that I barely care right now

As far as I'm concerned, TKOL is obsolete as of today. This will be getting more listening time for me in the next week than that has in the 5 years since release.

 

So it's pretty safe to say after this release they have no more old stuff to rehash ha

"True Love Waits" is a fantastic closer

 

Ive predicted and hoped there would be alot of orchestral elements to this since 2012 but it still ended up being quite different than I thought they would go. I thought for sure it would be more percussive and strange instrumentation

Also, I would take all I could get of material that sounds like Glass Eyes.

 

What about Lift? Big Boots is another one, but we'll probably never get it.

Lift has to be one of the bonus tracks, at least I'm hoping!

 

you can't just listen through an album either, it'll be shuffled, and sometimes they even add in "recommended songs"

I love what they did for True Love Waits, but it'll take a while before I stop hearing the live version in my head at the same time. I'm glad I didn't listen to any of the other tracks they debuted live more than once or twice for this reason.

 

Agreed. I think Codex is one of their best songs.

 

Starting with Lotus Flower, the back half is ridiculously stacked.

 

It's still surreal that after all this time we have "True Love Waits" on an album.

After giving myself a little time to absorb my first listen, just going to drown myself in this record for the rest of the day.

Oh my god this album is nearly fucking perfect. I'm having trouble finding anything I don't like about it.

I know what you mean. The live version is so iconic, it will take a while to adjust. The studio version is great though.
