Yeah they're probably on a par with those I'd say. Regardless, they're gonna continue to get bigger with their new record too.

I liked the last album, it had a few filler tracks but Pastel, Honey, Shimmer, Freckle and especially Knuckles were great. I'm looking forward to it.

 

I've heard contrasting reports from people who have already had a listen to the new record, but I'm hopeful. I'm a sucker for everything these guys put out.

 

Everyone just talking about this band as if the lead singer isn't a sexual predator and total creep can go fuck themselves tbh. DO BETTER.

 

You might, you know, just stop following this thread if you don't like the band. And telling people to go fuck themselves is not a nice thing to say, especially if they have done you no harm and you don't even know them.

No one is pretending it didn't happen. Also this may be semantics, but I don't consider him a predator, he did something creepy and very wrong but I always considered predatory people to be rapists or pedophiles, is that not correct? (genuinely asking)


I thought the song was good, sounded like a mix of the two albums.

I’m not joking about his actions, and you know that, you’re smarter than that. Just the fact that the other guy came in here just to say fuck you to people who listen to this band and I was also making fun of the people like him who go around judging ppl based on music they listen to (and other outrageous things) and taking their anger out on others. My obversation, especially on Twitter, is that theres just an oversaturation of bitching,with really no end game. no results nor compromise. This leads to unjustified judging of ppls character to a whole new extreme, and i was pointing out the hypocrisy (and yes, I’ll admit the joke, yes JOKE, has elements of whatahoutism) but I’m typing from an iPhone and wearing nikes so I obviously wasn’t trying to make a legit point with the “what abouts” just making fun of how ridiculous some ppl can sound

Again, this is/was not joking about sexual harassment/predators whatsoever, no matter how bad you may want it to seem that way. Me having to clarify and explain my reasoning for the joke to well educated Adults is sadly the new norm and a major part of my issue with negative online interaction.

 

Discussion about the music and the troublesome character issues of the lead singer can coexist in a single internet forum.

But yeah let’s not start down the “what about ______” path. Listen to the band or don’t, but don’t try and minimize what the guy did.

 

I'll say the same thing I've said in other threads around the site: if anyone is uncomfortable or enraged when others bring up the scummy, creepy things these guys have done, then the logical response should be to examine why that is, and whether these people deserve further support. If anyone is cool still listening to this band (or other bands in the same boat like Neck Deep), go right ahead, but you have to also be cool with what they've done being brought up again and again. Because it should be.

 

exactly. you have every right to listen to the band but you have literally zero to shut down down any dialogue (that happens in any form) about the band in that way if you decide to do so
