Can we talk about the dirty, filthy and nasty things Beck did with a guitar and bass on this record?

    Holy fuck is it good.

Always dug Glassjaw but wasn't die hard like a bunch of my buds... this record is next level. easily their best work. I'm blown away. this is one of the coolest records I've heard this year. feels like it breathes new life into post hardcore.

I have a pretty damn good setup in my car, and this shit pushed the hell out of it. I love mixes like that. Also love that reading everyone's reactions, good or bad, just makes me want to listen to it more. Reminds me of the consensus for Gore when it was released last year.

The production for on W&T is overall great, but I feel like it can be pretty inconsistent from song to song.

W&T feels a little too clinical and cold. Little grit would’ve gone a long way.

Yeah, I can see that. Personally I'm OK with it, especially now that we got a really juicy, messy gj record on our hands now

The guitars on Gore are soooooo loud and I love it.

Until I remember Abe is one of the best and most underappreciated drummers around and get sad. I like using the drums as a benchmark for how loud to play it tho

    hmmm

I wouldn't want the production on this to be much different to be honest. Vocals a little further forward at times maybe. The bass sounds soooooooooooooooooo killer.

    The spiciest meme

Palumbo: It just kind of felt like you needed to exhale for a minute and gather your thoughts before you go to that last song. It's different for us to close out [the album] with it being so high energy.

    Beck: It's the palette cleanser.

Palumbo: Yeah, it's the ginger, if you will.

Yea for all you title track haters :-p

are people hating on the title track? i havent really seen that. its just a meta joke instrumental.

Let me put it this way: it is a little peculiar to make the title track an interlude, not only that, but one that literally recycles a 5 year old riff.

Now obviously I don’t hate the title track, thats one of the best riffs anyone has ever written, it’s just weird.
(That said their reasoning is sound in my book)

yeah i get that i suppose. i just havent really seen anything that qualifies as hating on it, its pretty clearly not meant to be taken seriously and is just a fun little wink at the fans who are familiar with Junkies. even their reasoning seemed kinda funny like they didnt even mention the little repeated riff or their reasoning for putting it in there.

The only thing more glassjaw would be to make the riff even older

it would be such a fucking riot to play bass for this band.

People use the phrase “recycling the Riff” as if hearing more of that Riff is a negative thing. We should be saying “thank you Glassjaw for blessing us with the opportunity to hear more of the glorious Junkies riff, especially since we are so unworthy”
