I have a pair of pretty decent headphones and for my second listen that was what I did, and it was fantastic.

Anyone else having difficulty downloading their digital copy? I've gone to the link they sent me via email and it just has a summary of my order, there's nothing to download haha.

    EDIT: figured it out.

Probably the most disappointing thing about this record is that those isolated vocals they used to tease the album in one of their IG videos never actually happened

Shira is one of my top tracks. I didn’t listen to it much before it came out, just once i think. I was trying to hold off. It’s classic Glassjaw.

    Good summary.

The production on EYEW and W&T is pretty good by this genre's standards.

On MC, it sounds low budget/DIY. Not in a really bad way, but it's certainly not polished nor is it particularly crisp/clear. However, it really does work perfectly on certain sections. I'd give the overall production a B- or B; it's just competent enough not to detract from the excellent content.

I love “Conscience” and “Bibleland” a lot. “Strange Hours” isn’t a favorite but I like the dub sound they’re going for. Good record

The more I listen the less "chaotic" this album seems to become, and I know I used that adjective earlier. The guitars and bass are layered really thick and heavily and there's some wild grooves but nothing is like, that out there. Everything comes together really well and makes sense within the context of the songs. True chaos is like, Thaw by Converge

This has really started to click with me. I've listened to it in a variety of ways now (car speakers, headphones, laptop speakers and an actual decent set of speakers) and something new has come out and grabbed me instrumentally every time. There's definitely more variety here than initially meets the eye (or ear, I guess?). In a way, this sound is kind of a perfect marriage between the aggression of Our Color Green and the more experimental and groovy sounds on Coloring Book. Does it reach the heights of either of those? In my opinion, no. Not really. But it's still pretty damn good.

New White Extremity, Shira, Strange Hours, and Closer are up there with some of the best GJ songs and I'm sure this will sprout a few more top tracks with more spins. Strange Hours is probably my favorite (I could see it having it's origins in the Coloring Book sessions) and I wish there was a little more of that on here to balance the record out a bit, but that's not the type of record they were going for here and I respect that. And hyper aggressive Glassjaw has never been a bad thing in my book.
