Hit up a few different comic shops. Lots of free stuff, dollar comics, buy-one-get-one-free, surprisingly cheap comics (got a $25 trade for $5!), just a great day.

    FCBD:
    Civil War II
    DC Super Hero Girls
    Love and Rockets
    March
    Steve Rogers Captain America

    Bought:
The rest of 52 I needed
    Batman/Superman #32 (because "New Super-Man debut)
    JLX Unleashed (Amalgam)
    Vision & Scarlet Witch 1-4/4 & 2-12/12

    Variants:
    Black Panther
    Black Widow
Rocket Raccoon & Groot (Liefeld, lol)
    Scarlet Witch
    Secret Wars
    Secret Wars 2099 (Gwen variant)
    Silk (manga!)
    Spider-Gwen
    Uncanny X-Men
    Vision

    Trades bought:
    Jinx by Brian Michael Bendis
    Deadly Class vol. 1
    Tokyo Ghost vol. 1
    Wytches vol. 1

That is an insane haul. Sounds like it'll be a ton of fun to read though. We should discuss Deadly Class and Wytches once we've both read them! Bought Deadly a while ago but I've been horrible about reading my comics as I buy them.

I own more comics that I haven't read than that I have, tbh. It's a problem. I'd have to go like a year getting nothing new, lol.

Same, but luckily my collection only really spans 3/4 of one shelf right now haha.

I didn't end up going to the comic ship because I knew it wouldn't end well. lol

The IST order I put in last week still hasn't shipped. I'm not caught up on what I have, but I was really looking forward to it.

Wasn't able to make it out to a shop for FCBD but will likely dl some of the free issues on the iPad(if they're available). Really haven't been on much of a comics kick lately, been too consumed with video games at the moment.

Read a bunch of comics yesterday.

Caught up on Nailbiter, fucking love it. I stopped by my local shop to see if they were getting the new releases and they aren't so I guess I'll be getting those digitally. Not going to be able to wait for trades.

Finished the second omnibus for hack/slash and it's still my favorite. The Re-animator crossover was the best, also the Tub Club. Glad that there is more continuity between the stories and the art now.

Buffy is my favorite thing that exists in the entire world and I put it on a higher pedestal than anything. I've always known the season 8 comics were a thing but I was never too interested. Decided to finally give it a go. The first trade was ok. Mainly set up. I don't know how I'm going to feel about it. Probably keep going though.

Oh and I've totally never heard of Hitman, Tommy Monaghan, before but picked up Rage in Arkham because I saw Garth's name. Really fun, I liked it a lot.

    And started Zero Year

I flipped through the first two omnibuses of Hack/Slash and decided it wasn't for me. None of the art grabbed me at all. Then again, I kinda felt that way about Chew at first.

I think i stopped Hack/Slash after the first omnibus eventhough I own all 5. Glad to hear that the art and continuity makes more sense after the 1st.

Also YES to Zero Year, so so so good! You read Year One first right? Not that it's a sequel or anything but there are some callbacks and such.

The Hack/Slash story is what really sells it to me, and Cassie is a very strong female character. The artwork definitely takes getting used to since like every other issue is a completely different artist.

I'm surprised Rob Guillory hasn't been on more books honestly, I enjoy his style quite a bit, don't really understand why he wouldn't work on anything else.

On a related note have you read the Chew/Revival crossover that was released? That was pretty interesting.

also @Vivatoto there was a Hack/Slash/Nailbiter crossover released a few years ago as well, pretty awesome!

I haven't read Revival. I'm all caught up on Chew though, which is exciting. Can't wait for the last arc.

You don't really need to have read/know anything about Revival to enjoy it, it's a standalone issue

Yeah, the first issue in the second Omnibus is labeled issue 1 and they're all numbered after that so I guess that's kind of when the run officially starts in a way. The art stays the same throughout the whole book too, if there's a different artist they at least make it look similar. There's one story where they go back to the cartoony art but it's a joke and they break the fourth wall a bit with it. They're starting to build a much larger story though, I'm loving it.

I saw that Nailbiter and hack/Slash crossover! Meant to ask you about that. Definitely going to read the hell out of that at some point. Knowing what I know about that actual Nailbiter at this point I have no idea how a crossover would work, but that's half the fun I suppose.

Yeah I read Year One even before I started getting obsessed with comics this year since I heard Gotham took inspiration from it. That's what sent me down the Long Halloween/Dark Victory route.

The crossover is just a one-shot type thing with each universe's characters in the others world and written by the opposite's creators and whatnot. If that makes sense?

Also been reading the MAX run of Alias. It reminds me so much of the Watchmen except placed in the Marvel world, which is pretty interesting.

Decided to do a quick review of Black Magick Vol. 1. Next ones I'll be doing will be Pride & Joy and James Bond: VARGR. Plus once I read through Snyder's Batman one, I'm thinking of having a piece up on that (won't necessarily be a review, though).

Who read the Marvel FCBD stories?

Civil War II was cool, even though it didn't really give much insight into the actual event (unless Thanos wrecking War Machine fuels Carol's stance). Jim Cheung illustrating Captain Marvel and company fighting Thanos was a blast. Between Cheung for this little prelude, Olivier Coipel for #0, and David Marquez for the actual series, this event is in good hands visual-wise if nothing else.

The Wasp story was simple and fun. I'm not following ANADA as it comes out anymore, but I do think she could be a fun character in that series.

Steve Roger: Captain America was decent. I'll probably get the trades at some point down the road. I forget how I felt about the new costume when it was revealed (so I guess it wasn't a strong feeling), but I did think it looked pretty cool in action; I'd be down with Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie as these Caps in these suits in a film.

The artist for this "Dead No More" story was... not great. lol. Looks like the actual event will be illustrated by Cheung, though, which should be awesome. I'm definitely going to buy that trade, unless everyone thinks the event sucks. The meaninglessness of comic book deaths makes the premise here a little less impactful, but the story could still be pretty cool.

@Tim I'll definitely be reading Civil War II and Steve Rogers: Captain America, but likely on Marvel Unlimited since I'm still reading a bunch of other stuff on there.

Dead No More is sounding awful already. I'm hoping it is a Mysterio type deal where they are just duping everyone.
