I half expected something stupid like that too. I'm glad it was played straight with no supernatural elements.

 

I think it stemmed from Patrick Stewart on the Nerdist podcast. He offered up the premise but remained cryptic about the rest of the film. Maybe it was just my imagination that went that route. It wasn't until after that I realized it was from the same director as Blue Ruin, which was a pleasant Netflix surprise to me last year. And then I realized the guy who played Gabe was the main character in Blue Ruin who I thought looked familiar.

 

given how acclaimed the director's work has been, i just love the idea of him taking this movie and being like "but make them zombies" or something

How did you watch it? Been meaning to check it out, just not sure where it's available.

It's pretty easy to find on video hosting sites if you're not opposed. Be aware that the characters speak with heavy Irish/UK accents so subtitles might be worth looking around for.

Kill List

 

Yeah really bummed me out when I wanted to do a rewatch of all the great Netflix horror movies( Kill List, The Innkeepers, and House of the Devil), but they took them off

 

Let The Right One In is leaving soon too.

 

Watched Creep today. Kinda underwhelmed, found it repetitive and just not that scary. Duplass did a good job though.

With all of the recent talk about Kill List, has anyone seen High Rise yet?

 

Not yet, but I might watch it tonight, or tomorrow! Is it good? I heard great things, and bad things about it.
Finally saw 10 Cloverfield Lane yesterday, not exactly horror, but I liked it (apart from the ending). Goodman was great.

 

Someone help me out real quick, what was that horrible Robocop ripoff from the 80's? If I remember, the guys suit was black and he rode a motorcycle.

 

Another thing, does anyone remember a movie that was either in the 80's or early 90's where a gate/portal is opened up under a restaurant? Or there is a scene that takes place in a restaurant and some shit like this goes down, might be The Gate or The Gate 2 but I haven't seen those in a long time.

The main characters are kids, or young teens.

Yeah, it's quite good.

 

High-Rise was good. There's some great filmmaking and a strong performances, and I admire the ambition. I kept getting frustrated by all the character's behavior, but I guess it fits in with the surreal, bizarro world the movie takes place in.

 

All this talk about Kill List, may as well watch A Serbian Film.

 

ASF is such an overrated movie.

Anyone seen American Guinea Pig? Was curious to see this after seeing one of the originals but I don't know if I can stomach it.
