I'm heading to Civil Society on Saturday. Hoping their Emerald Showers IPA is still on (Topaz, Ella and Vic Secret hops).

Last night was a heavy one at my fave craft place. Beers from Modern Times, Other Half, Sloop, Jack's Abbey. Also got to have Tipopils which is just delightful and easy to drink.

Love their Dubhe Black IPA. I had Labryinth sit for a long while before I delved in. Was a bit skeptical of the black licorice but overall enjoyed it

OCP is always a hit at my work. Solidly made "gimmick" beer which sounds like I'm knocking it but it's good for what it is.
Great IPA. Essentially their Fresh Squeezed and I think Citradelic doesn't get enough love.
It's a possibility! They said they would ship to me. If you wanted a bottle, I'll order an extra one and can send it your way.
They said they would ship to me, absolutely.

Also, would this FF be better aged or fresh? Should I just order three bottles (one to trade away, one to age, one to have fresh)?

Traveling through Grand Rapids at the end of this month and a stop to The Founders Tap Room is surely happening.

  7. That's usually the route I go. Hopefully I'll be getting to try this on tap there as well? I can't remember if it will be available or not. If I try it on tap, I'll trade one and save two. It should definitely get better with age. I'll probably open one at 6 months and one at a year.

Drink at Founders, eat at Brewery Vivant. Vivant has some of the best food in the state, including restaurants. It's in an old Funeral Parlor and they used the pews to make community tables and there is stained glass everywhere. It's fantastic, especially if you like Belgian or French farmhouse style beers.
Very nice. I'll email them back my information.

Edit: Do they normally do these types of pre-orders/shippings?

  9. Not really sure what their normal process is, I haven't been to this shop or their releases before. I'd imagine if they're shipping something like this I don't see why they wouldn't ship anything else.

I do know that this is the 3rd "Peabody's Blendiculous Series" beer that Peabody's has done in partnership with a brewery. The first was "Lock, Stock and Bourbon Barrels", a barleywine done with Olde Hickory Brewery. The second was "Children of the Blue Corn", an imperial brown ale done with Foothills Brewery. I didn't get to try either of them though.

This new brewery The Veil released a new DIPA called Dirt Nap. Its that super hazy, juicy, deliciousness that's all the rage these days. Unfortunately I missed out on cans as I work till 5:30 M-F. Quite good though.

Sounds good, feel free to do the same. I'm at most releases for Kane, Carton, Tired Hands and Forest & Main. Make it to the city sometimes for Other Half too.

  13. I'll definitely be hitting you up for some TH and OH releases at some point. Thanks dude.

Has anyone tried Southern Tier's Grand Arbor? Wife randomly grabbed it for me. Farmhouse Ale brewed with maple syrup.

I've heard such good things about it, especially Pulp. I'm dying to make the drive one day.

Just had Tired Hands for the first time and it ruled. HopHands and Galactic Holes were very similar to Trillium.

Spent the day doing some things around the house and building furniture my wife and I bought that I haven't gotten around to yet, so I bought a 6 pack of Jai Alai when I went out earlier (I love that I can get Jai Alai, and fresh at that, from the gas station). Working on #6 right now. Damn I love this beer so much.

Been reading The Complete Beer Course, which has been super interesting to me. Not sure how much info I'm actually absorbing, but as I read there's definitely a fair amount of things I fund pretty interesting

I got that as a birthday present two years ago and found it to be a really enjoyable and informative read.

My girlfriend got it for me for my birthday too! With a set of glasses and that beer of the month thing for a few months. It's fun learning about the slight differences in style

Curse you! I've never had Jai Alai (or any Cigar City, for that matter). Hoping that with their new deal with the company that owns Oskar Blues, CC will come to Michigan. My hope is based on the fact that Perrin, a brewery here in Michigan, is owned by the same company and they're going to distribute to Colorado soon.
Nice. I'll have to pick that up at some point. I just started my first read through of Tasting Beer. Only 1.5 chapters in but already know I'm going to love this book.

Tired Hands makes delicious beer. I really miss going to school right down the road from there.
