There is zero filler on the devil and god.

Pretty sure some of the songs on TDAG basically exist because they needed filler, seeing as they were too pissy to keep most of the demos that were supposed to be the album. The whole back half of the album is filler except Luca, but I'd still put Luca below everything in the first half. I haven't felt inclined to listen to it in at least a year, and I've only had it like two. Honestly, the best thing about the record is the artwork.

Imagine calling Welcome To Bangkok and Archers filler

Back half, really? Yes, the first half is stronger, but I wouldnt call the second half filler. Not The Sun and Archers are two of my favorite BN songs.

Ya TDAG doesn't have filler, sorry. I'll concede that it's a top heavy album with the first half but the back half still kills it.

Haha my opinions on Brand New are not popular. I kind of got past the craze behind the band and realized I don't enjoy their records as much as AP users hyped me to, and the only one that has stuck is the one that got/gets hate.

I don't like Archers or Bangkok, I like Not the Sun though. I still consider it filler though, it's just fun filler. My girlfriend thought BN invented the term "bae" when she heard it and found out it was from 06. (Thinking about it, this was the last time I listened to TDAG too.)

Does his fake cowboy accent on Daisy not bother you?

I haven't listened to Daisy in forevor, and can't recall that. Though that comment reminds me why I dislike TBS now a days. Adam always singing in a almost fake sounding southern accent.

I don't know if it's a "cowboy accent", I mean he's Singing with something going on but I don't know what exactly to call it. Just not that.

It's because he was definitely not doing a fake cowboy accent on Daisy haha.

The lukewarm reception for YFW in here kinda bums me out. I love the three-part vocal harmonies and the counter melodies at the end od half the songs. Shower Scene is such a good album opener and I love when they start their sets with it. I love how dramatic it is. Some of the lyrics are a little cheesy, but nothing like the "darkly the dark hand" part of Sink. Logan to Government Center is ome of their best songs. No Seatbelt wouldn't feel out of place on Deja Entendu (though I hate the high pitch noise at the beginning). Yes, Brand New made a pop punk album, but it's far from generic and I still listen to it often.

    And because it's inevitable:
    TDAG > DEJA > FOYD = Daisy = YFW
Difficult to rank because I love them all.

I'd rather him do fake accents than sing the same way every album.

I love your favorite weapon. It was the first album I ever bought with my own money when I was a kid. Such a fun album still.

Logan to Gov is one of the best Brand New songs still.

It's definitely more obvious on Mene than anything on Daisy. It's I guess like a half Isaac Brock impersonation. Tbh I thought at least one person would agree with me and I wouldn't have to back up my statement with examples. Time to listen to Daisy again.

The difference being that Adam is from the South and Jesse is from New York.

Talking down on Deja Entendu is just a little ridiculous to me because of how big of a game changer it was when it was released. That album literally set the bar higher for every band in this scene... And then Brand New themselves flew above that bar when they released TDAG.

Same. I didn't mean to say it like a bad thing. I really like Daisy and the way he sings on it.
I just feel like it's cowboy-ish the way ge pronounces the Rs in "a deer that a hunter shot in the heart, some dogs that got hit by cars..." those are not New York Rs.
