Playing Skeletons digging it. Will be spinning the record for sure.

That was the standout for me.

I would be done, but I have multiple partners.

    Excuses excuses!!

But for real I could never have multiple. I feel pressured fitting in time to listen to the albums from one assigned person. Im paranoid I'll get busy and forget or won't have the time and I'm like ahhh

I enjoyed them. It's always nice checking out artists you know of in passing more in depth! I'm the worst for casually liking lots of songs but forgetting to check out their whole catalogs so it's nice having a convenient reason to do so!

For session #1, I was paired with @JRGComedy and i got Adessa on Bay State - Handmade: The Full Story

Only 8 tracks and 27 minutes and it turned out to be much more challenging than I thought it would be. Tbh it's still growing on me, until today I would of said the second half is stronger than the first but now I can't say that anymore. I'm starting to like it all. This album is impressive in its simplicity. At first its stripped down approach of a girl and a guitar seems overly simple but there is more going on than that. At times the production reminds me of Lewis & Leigh and their album Ghost sans male vocals. Also fun fact there is low key swearing on nearly every single track not that it bothers me at all just thought that was pretty funny.

If I had to pick a fave I think it would have to be Happy.

Yay! Glad you're enjoying it. The low-key swearing is definitely a thing haha.
My little factoid is that the singer was my junior prom date! Happy is a great song, definitely different from the rest of the album.

I think that's why that one is a standout for me. That's cool are you still in touch with her?

Yeah, for sure! She did a guest spot on my first album and I chat with her once or twice a year! We're pretty much the only two people to come out of our tiny town and go on to do creative things.

@bachna84 Thank you so much for giving two important albums to me a chance. It's been a fun experience so far. Here's my semi-late reply due to work.

Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R (2000). My experience with Josh Homme is short with only previous knowledge of Like Clockwork and Them Crooked Vultures. My takeaway from a few listens is this is a good rock album. I like the aggressive yet groovy nature of their sound. The album is varied, as well as, adding a replay factor to it. Definitely wasn't a fan of the first song, and glad I didn't build an impression from it.

The Movielife - Cities in Search of a Heart (2017) - I didn't know what to expect from the album going in. Back in the early part of the decade, I was a huge Movielife fan and Vinnie in general. My taste has changed a bit, and reunion albums usually do not turn out well. This was a surprise listen that would have been fantastic for me in the summer. Cities in Search of a Heart is pleasant trip down memory lane. Vinnie's raspy vocals still draw me in with the heart on the sleeve type of lyrics. Somewhat a 2000s album with a mix of the 2010s grungy tribute. Mercy is Asleep at the Wheel and Lake Superior are two standout tracks.
