haha I feel like if we start rigging it now it'll be a slippery slope and it'll just be people begging to get paired.

so let's 100% do it for sure.

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

Ok since everyone is posting their thoughts for this session when they finish, I might as well do mine now so I can free up time for ‘Wolves’ on Friday. First up, the recommendations from @Mary V

Mitski- Bury Me At Make Out Creek

This was legit as hell. I got an old school punk indie vibe from it, but with some experimental thrown in to it. Also throwing some bad ass female lead vocals into the mix and there was no way I wouldn’t like this. This woman’s voice just screams powerful, and it resonates through the songs. As I said before though; it’s not just her vocals! The music is top notch and shines through on the songs. There are some badass tracks like my personal favorite ‘Drunk Walk Home’, but then there are also some other goodies like ‘I Will’ , ‘I don’t Smoke’ and the closing ‘Last Wish Of A Shooting Star’. I needed some more female vocalists in my catalog, and this album delivered in spades. I will definitely revisit this.

    Bjork- Homogenic

This album was WAY outside of my comfort zone. Going in to it through the first track I was thinking “Well... 1/2 isn’t bad...” but then I laid down on the couch and listened. Truly listened. The second track ‘Jorga’ came on and I was hooked. The musical composition and her voice made for a fucking beautiful song. And it never let up. The whole album to me kind of plays out like it should be the soundtrack of a movie but I am okay with that. I found myself enthralled in the music, and songs like ‘Unraveled’ and ‘Bachelorette’ drew me in almost instantly. I even liked the BSide ‘Sod Off’ way more that I thought I would. This album is musical art in a pure, soul form. I probably will revisit this, I think I may have even enjoyed it more than Mitski.

And now on to @sean_rugy ’s picks.

Ceres- I Don’t Want To Be Anywhere But Here

Okay now THIS brought me back to my comfort Zone. Holy hell how have I never heard of this band?! This Aussie band has pretty much everything I like in a rock band. Catchy guitars, insane drumming, fast paced and off the hinges songs with melodic singing and guitar work. Honestly this band kind of reminds me of old school Taking Back Sunday or Jimmy Eat World in a way. They fit right into that niche and they play it well. ‘I Feel Fine, I Feel Sick’ is by far my favorite of the tracks, but I also have a soft spot for ‘Middle Names’, ‘Try To Keep You’ and basically the whole album. Sean mentioned there’s another album, and I will most definitely be checking that out ASAP because this band fits on my MP3 player with the rest of my catalogue easily. Those guitars are sublime and the drumming stands out as great as well,

    Chumped- Teenage Retirement

Another 1-2 punch in my comfort zone, but it is great. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I did Ceres, but it was still great. Sort of reminiscent of Paramore, this female led rock band holds its own and is a heavier hitter than I thought it would be. Tracks like ‘December Is The Longest Month’, ‘Coffee’ And ‘Name That Thing’ I could see myself easily revisiting at some point. The music is in your face, and it never lets up.

I have no negatives to say about this, or any of the three albums I mentioned before, honestly. This session of the club for me was a 4/4 for awesomeness. I’d have to say Ceres and Björk come out on top as most likely for me to revisit, but honestly I wouldn’t mind spinning any of them again soon.

Ceres converts another, my job here is done. Seriously though, glad you enjoyed and the new album introduces some fuzz into the equation. Looking forward to giving Thirteenth Step and California a spin later tonight (I really have not heard it other than that one pool song).

I like that suggestion, could be fun. Might be a challenge to find a record that none of us have heard?

There’s this album called ‘Existence’ I bet not many of the thread has heard

  25. Hahaha I couldn't deal with 20-30 people that I associate with on near an every day basis listening to my band's album and then critiquing it. Take the spotlight off of me!

(But seriously, if anyone wants to listen to it, you should! We are quite proud of it. Just don't tell me, haha)
