whatever it is i bet its announced this week. thats my wishful thinking tho

 

after seeing mwY kill it on their first LP show on Friday I'm open to bands doing this - definitely breathed new life into the songs

but

I would prefer a new album, yes

 

not sure if there's a way to insert pictures? i'm on mobile. anyway, i opened wildlife yesterday for the first time in...probably two years, maybe more. i love that album but, like others have said, it's difficult to listen to if you're not in a mood where you need it. but i found these folded up pieces of paper that i didn't remember putting there, in the pocket with the lyrics insert. and when i unfolded it, i found that it was notes that i had written from a long interview jordan did years and years ago, where he went through each track and discussed the stories behind them and the lyrics and the themes of the album and how it came together. and i'd sat there and handwritten notes as i listened and stuffed them in the cardboard case. the memory came flooding back once i read a few lines.

i love this band.

anyone else remember that? all i really know about it was that it was posted on ap.net within probably the first three months or so of the album release.

edit: anyway i listened to rooms of the house today. so good.

I might be sleuthing a little bit too hard here, but Adam from La Dispute posted this last night, when Mewithoutyou was playing in Philadelphia. Will Yip is currently recording a mystery band, and since he is in Philly and they are from Grand Rapids (I think), this might be some proof to that band being La Dispute.

i believe. can't believe we are bordering 4 years since the release of rooms. still remember the night that shit leaked on ap and calling in sick the next day cause i was too emotionally wrecked to go to work.

 

It's hard to put into words how much I connected to Rooms of The House. If Wildlife reflected the worst times you have as someone living with mental illness, rooms feels like the rest of life that's never really the same after going through the real bad times. It feels like the depression you live with everyday, and it really helped me learn how to accept my depression as part of me in a healthy way.
