Finally watched The Witch last night. Incredible.

Eggers has a bright future.

 

Hopefully. He is very talented when it comes to this time period, curious how he'll do with something modern. Whoever handled the composing should get just about as much credit as Eggers did for his directing.

 

Man I know I shouldn't read Facebook comments like I shouldn't read YouTube comments, but the FB page for The Witch is probably about 70% hate

 

Can't seem to find anything about this.

 

You probably wouldn't because it's Lights out. I'm not sure where I got The a Dark Side from lol

 

watched Splinter - I liked it more than I thought i would. pretty neat monster design, appreciably claustrophobic, and it kept things fresh throughout. just wish the camera hadn't been so fucking shaky during all the monster sequences, it took a lot of fun on them and kinda just gave me a headache

 

Yeah I watched Splinter once and haven't watched it again. It was fun, but pretty forgettable.

 

His next film is going to be set during the medieval times so we won't get a chance to see that anytime soon.

 

Lol I watched The Final Girls last night and loved it... I thought I'd hate it.

Ah, that's a little bit of a bummer for me, but I'm sure whatever he does will be something to look out for

 

I just watched It Follows and wasn't impressed.

 

I fucking love It Follows

 

it was real good but there were a few things that could have pushed it into amazing territory for me iirc

 

I like It Follows. I don't get why everyone loved it so much though

 

I watched The Invitation and Ratter tonight. Both were mediocre.

 

I usually go by Rotten Tomatos when I'm deciding what to watch. I think It Follows was like 83% and I loved it.

 

It Follows is great.

 

Because it's an original idea executed almost perfectly. The cast did an amazing job of creating suspense.

 

Just curious, but what would you have liked to see that you didn't?

 

Iirc the pool scene felt really out of place, and the barn scene I seem to remember was pretty generic. But it's been a while since I saw it anyway so who knows.

 

Really liked Green Room. Though I went in without much knowledge, for some reason I thought the movie was suppose to have some type of supernatural element (like the neo-Nazis were vampires or something).
