But I'll find something and I'm excited I got you too! I get home in a few hours so I'll think on it during my drive and let you know!

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

Ok here we go. Time to write up what I have listened to. First:

    @ComedownMachine

    Radiohead- The Bends

Ok so, Don’t go grabbing your pitchfork and torches but I had only ever heard of one Radiohead song before this club got started. I know, I know, but the one song I had heard hadn’t pulled me in enough to listen to more. Well, I am glad I was wrong. This album is totally up my alley, and the music is just so emotional. Not just the lyrics, but I am talking about the guitars, the flow. This is music from the heart, you can tell. The Title track is my favorite, and while I haven’t revisited the album in full since my intial two listens, I have revisited this song on its own a lot. I also like (Nice Dream) and My Iron Lung a lot. I am a guy that likes good lyrics, catchy guitar, but above all else emotion in the lyrics and music. This album has that in spades, will be looking into more of their work.

    MGMT-Congratulations

    Woah.
That was my reaction after listening to this album. I listened to it not long after I listened to The Bends, and it was NOT what I was expecting to come through my headphones at all. I almost thought perhaps Spotify was playing me the wrong album. But YouTube confirmed it was right. I liked this album a lot, but after listening to the previous one I was underwhelmed. I should have listened to them in reverse. It was different, I liked it, but I am not sure if I’d revisit it. Time will tell. Not knocking this at all, if it seems like that. But it didn’t quite catch me.

And now my assignment from @primavera

    Protomartyr- Relatives In Descent

I have to admit when I first started spinning this album, I was like “What the fuck is this...” the opening track comes off against all other forms of music I’ve ever listened to. Listening further through the album though, I have to say I was impressed. The music was creative, and I found myself hooked and drumming my fingers to it half the time. The lyrics were good too, and the method of vocals in the songs are...interesting. Sort of like a dark, indie punk rock. It took some getting used to but by the time the second or third track was on I was digging it. My standout tracks on this one were My Children, Up The Tower, and the one that got me on board with this listening session Here Is The Thing. Good stuff.

Radiohead is the winner If I was to pick one of these three I liked the most. But I would not rule out listening to protomartyr or MGMT in the future. All three Id never listened to before this, and I’d only even heard of Radiohead.

Round one thoughts. Thanks to @skurt for the recommendations!

    Seaway - Vacation

I've seen these guys live and enjoyed their debut full length for what is was. When I heard this album was coming out, I completely forgot about it and never checked it out. @skurt passed it my way and brought my attention to it once more. I've listened to this so many times this long weekend. I think its their best effort yet. I REALLY like the vocals and the musicianship as a pop punk band on this album. This will be a heavy rotator for me. With all trash and perverted stuff going on in this scene, this album was refreshing.

    The Flatliners - Inviting Light

Man, what can I say? Before this listen, I never gave these guys a chance. I never knew what they sounded like, but always heard their name! As someone who grew up in the Chicago punk scene, one would think I would have listened to The Flatliners for years. I feel kinda embarrassed it took me so long to listen to this band, especially since they were signed to Fat Wreck. AND THEYRE CANADIAN. Never underestimate a Canadian punk band! (Billy Talent is one of my all time favs). I still have some catching up to do with their discography, but I highly recommend Inviting Light.

    Saint Asonia - Saint Asonia

I haven't listened to this style of music since my early teens. Listening to this whole album was a nostalgia trip for me. I've heard these guys before bc @BTDandFeelingThis recommended them. The singer sounded familiar. Turns out its the lead singer of Three Days Grace! This is literally their only album and it came out in 2015. Yeah....Its already an instant classic for anyone who is a fan 3DG. The vocals have so much passion in them and the production, in my opinion, keeps things real with out going overboard. I can see myself coming back to this more often.

Glad you enjoyed them, all three of these records have been spun heavily by me this year. I'm assuming in the Seaway blurb you referring to Colour Blind was there debut, they actually have a full length before that called "Hoser"
it is very good as well.

    SSJ

I guess I will post mine now that my training is done.

@Larry David recommended that I listen to:

    Dredg- Catch Without Arms

This Saiyan was impressed with this album, and ashamed I’d never heard it before though I attribute that to being from another planet. It sat well with my taste in music, and provided me hours of repeat listens while training with Kakarot. I found it hard to pick a favorite song, and though I told Larry a few I called my favorites they seem to keep changing each time I listen to this album. I have to say ‘Ode To The Sun’ ‘Sang Real’ And ‘Hungover On A Tuesday’ are my favorites but that could change as fast as who is winning in a fight with transformations. I will be revisiting them often in my trips in my space pod. With a void in my music now thanks to a certain now disgusting band, this one really hit the sweet spot.

    I’m indifferent about music.

That said, i lucked out and @Mary V gave me what, with time, will probably be one of my favorite 2017 releases. Gang of Youths’ Go Farther Into Lightness has that barroom rock feel sort of like the menzingers but loaded with orchestral pieces. I friggin loved it. It’s really long, and some songs go on longer than they need to, but the story telling is great, the singing is phenomenal, and the orchestral parts were perfectly executed. Recommend this album to everyone.

I also had Feist’s Pleasure. I admittedly didn’t listen to this one as much as the other, but i did like it. Early impressions had me thinking it would follow in the vein of julien baker and phoebe bridgers, focusing primarily on female vocals and a solitary guitar. As you get into it there’s more going on, and I really liked the vocals. It’s a slow but enjoyable listen. Gonna have to listen to it more in the near future.
