I managed to get Mario Rabbids, Rayman Legend, DBZ Xenoverse 2, and Disgaea 5. Also got a good haul for ps4 too. I’m set for the next six months.

 

Splatoon updated? Thought it was coming on Saturday. My brother has been playing my Switch all day and he’s been changing gear between matches. I’ll never understand why that wasn’t a thing at launch.

I almost picked up fifa, but didn’t pull the trigger. It would have been a spontaneous purchase and I feel obligated to check out the reviews first...

In other news, I beat Odyssey main storyline last night, so as soon as the Skyrim price drops I’m ready to pull the trigger!

 

is dbz xenoverse 2 worth playing for an extremely casual dbz/fighting game fan?

i'm a big dbz and fighting game fan and Xenoverse 2 is bad. wait for FighterZ.

 

Rocket League is ridiculously fun, but one small problem: I suck at it.

 

FighterZ is the first Dragon Ball game I've been legitimately excited about in probably a decade. Seems like it's been a different version of the same game ever since.

 

it looks amazing. Xenoverse is the same ol' same ol' with less characters and mind-numbingly simplified mechanics. 8 of your moves are mapped to a hot bar in Xenoverse - no need to even learn button combos.

 

Yep, super glad I got it. I got a two pack on Amazon for under $10. I'm not perfect at putting them on, there's a small bubble on the bottom right corner, but it's off screen so I don't mind too much.

 

Go to options and turn off cross-platform play. Someone in here gave me the same tip and it has definitely leveled the playing field a bit for me.

I have dropped it once apparently, although I don’t remember doing it, because I’ve got a little crack in the top-rear casing. Just found it two days ago.

 

I got a switch last night! I picked up Mario Kart and FIFA and I want to get Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda at some point. Any others you guys recommend?

 

I have one but i got it for free when I bought a case. The Splatoon case also gives you one

 

Rabbids if you like turn based grid strategy
Disgaea 5 if you like the above but more grindy and repetitive, less skill but way more customizations

Splatoon 2
Binding of Isaac is perfect on the Switch

Lots of good indies: Stardew Valley, Golf Story (haven’t played it but other users have), Steamworld Dig 2

 

I want to do an AP recommended games thread on the original post but I’m trying to figure out the best way to categorize the games.

And I feel like we’ll probably end up just listing so many games

 

I really enjoyed Axiom Verge. While it didn't hit quite the same highs as some of the best metroidvanias like Ori or Hollow Knight, it was still a lot of fun and the switch is the perfect platform for it and is worth picking up if you haven't played it on another platform.

Rabbids is lots of fun.

Golf Story isn't as addictive as some of the other games. I don't find myself dying to play it when I pick my switch up. But its still a fun, relaxing game that I've enjoyed my time with.

 

So I'm still impressed with how many solid games are available on the Switch in its first year
