Paige+crew makes so much sense on RAW with Becky and Charlotte to counter

So...how does WWE follow up their Survivor Series push of Braun?

By bringing kane back to feud with Braun, and ending RAW with another lolRomanWins, this time with a grand slam.

I don’t mind it - a nice two or three month run with the shield all holding gold will be fun

 

It's hilarious, if Roman isn't "back in the Shield" here and goes over The Miz, he would have gotten booed.

Only gets the cheers because Ambrose and Rollins are there with him.

 

pretty indifferent, i think miz with the belt has definitely run its course. but also last time reigns had a secondary title no one remembers that run.

someone like balor would be great with the intercontinental title right now.

 

Miztourage+Bar v Shield needs to end already as well.

Im fine with the Shield running over the roster for the short-term, since they are just filling space with no PPV. Makes it easy to get back 3hrs a week.

 

fine with roman having the title for right now. there's no raw ppv until february and they need to do something with the show for the next few months since brock won't be back until the rumble. hopefully they have roman do an open challenge with it on a weekly basis or something to get some life out of it

 

Shield running over the roster for the short term, only to get stopped by the Revival once they are healthy would be nice.

 

Problem RAW has now is there is no believable faction to stop them. They've run over Miztourage so many times...and there is no other faction.

I love the Reivval, but in kayfabe...not a chance. Club+Balor reformed could do something, but that'd take some building

Dang, I missed Paige's return because Raw was boring up to that point and I got sidetracked by a deep dive of live Tracy Chapman performances...........

 

Roman having the belt is pretty bad. He doesn't elevate titles. If anything he submarines them because of how protected he always has to be. Miz needed an actual opponent to feud with that wasn't bigger than the belt. That way their program is (shockingly) about the title instead. This is gonna undo all the progress Miz had been slowly making with the IC belt. One step forward, two steps back.

If I can give my Drew take for a moment, the absolute worst part of the night though was a really cool women's nexus idea completely ruined by those two Tough Enough morons. Those two are just awful and not even close to ready and a whole bunch of other adjectives. What makes it even worse is that YOU HAVE TWO BETTER WOMEN SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. AND THEY'RE ALREADY A FUCKING TEAM.

This actually upset me. It's actually worse than calling up Dana Brooke out of nowhere. It'd be like if, back when WCW was teasing a new "game-changer" for the nWo (that turned out to be Bret), only it ended up being the YETAY instead. This could've been the best thing to happen to the Raw Women's Division since I don't fucking know, before that interminable Sasha-Charlotte feud started.

No fucking kidding.

 

Are Royce and Billie kay the type of heels to 'team with paige and gang up on people' though? I'm gathering that's who you guys are referring to. I think it's fine. I'm not even too familiar with Mandy and Sonya, but NxT is a work-rate type brand and I dont think Mandy Rose is ever going to be able to live up to those type of standards. That's why Carmella got called up and that's why Asuka had to stay for so long.

I dont think Paige with Royce/Kay is really all that intimidating. Now you can say neither is Mandy rose or Sonya, but i think they're more unknown, so you can make them whatever you want up on the main roster.

 

also I've never ever seen someone say 8 is the goat ff. that's a new one.

 

This is the problem I have. How do you sell them as intimidating...you job out all of your faces to them. So Mickie, Bayley, and probably Sasha all get to eat pins in short order, yay! All while Asuka is supposed to be building up.

RAW is now basically all factions. They went from one sort-of faction a few months ago to every title picture being faction based.

 

No no, they're not going to be beating babyfaces left and right yet. At least I'm pretty sure that's not the case. I'm thinking they're just meant to be the equivalent of Bo Dallas and Axel (maybe a notch above). Heel-ish, using numbers to their advantages type deal.

And also, I mean, I'm not going to be too upset with Bayley and Mickie james eating pins (especially Mickie james). The Bayley train is fully stopped at this point. They blew it and Mickie is veteran enhancement at this point. It's a shame but unfortunately that's where they've placed her.

I'm curious to see what they do with Paige and her lackeys..and how the WWE manages to do that and build Asuka.

I mean maybe the WWE actually does TWO storylines at once on raw. That would be nice and hey, at least at this point i get to use words like "curious" and "interested". I haven't said that for the women in a while.



but yes... the paige trio would have made a lot more sense on smackdown. In a perfect world, there's no brand split, and all of these women are together at once. Then we could actually do multiple storylines and possibly a 2nd belt (mid card or tag).

 

I think the NXT callup choices make sense. NXT women's division is really stacked, the two of them wouldn't catch a whiff of the NXT main event scene and they are also the best two names on the NXT roster to call up into a henchman type role.

Its certainly not a statement that they are the most main roster ready people on the roster. But callups aren't jut about who is the most main roster ready.

 

I feel like everything you guys are saying is the same positive way people tried to spin Dana. And look where she is now. Not only does she have nothing going on, but she can't even put together a 3 minute match so there's not even any opportunity for advancement.

And the sad thing is Dana was actually better than these girls and holy shit I can't believe I just said Dana Brooke is better than someone.

 

i dont think there's a guarantee of anything though. We get call ups of people who have been in NxT forever and are going nowhere or NxT callups that the fans were all jacked on, and sometimes weeks later all their fans are gone.

Not sure if you can point to any one example of something working or not.
