Ah. So they're just dropping off because With Confidence are trash. I wouldn't be surprised if someone accused Knuckle Puck of disgusting actions, though.

 

as far as i know knuckle puck hasn't had any accusations and were the ones to immediately drop with confidence from the tour

 

hearing dustin talk about scifi and brand new on the lead singer syndrome podcast hurt too

 

no this has nothing to do with it, different tours.

this is troubling to look at it this way from a band that's seemed to be positive. my interpretation from this post is definitely something i don't want to say on the forum

It sounds like Joe was saying that he was abused when he was younger, and the wave of allegations has caused that trauma to resurface? Or am I misinterpreting what he said?

 

That doesn't sound at all like why they're dropping off and it seems really insensitive to react this way. Someone in the band having past pain brought up (whatever it may be) and needing to take time away for his mental health is no time to make fun of them or accuse them of being abusers too.

I don't follow the band.

 

the only context is that they were on tour with one of the bands dropped from being abusive and immmediately replaced them with a non dude band

this seems like not that he is abusive but something more personal

 

Well, with minimal context and people sharing the post while being cagey about what their suspicion is I can't help but suspect the worst.

 

I'm guessing they did some bad stuff too so they're bailing before allegations come out.

Ok, so what context did sharing the post have with the topic this thread has turned into?

 

I don't see how any of you can read, "recent news has resurfaced some things from my childhood that had been repressed. those experiences have had lasting effects on my mental well-being," and start attacking this guy as an abuser. That's about as close as someone can come to saying they were abused without directly doing so and possibly hurting themselves more in the process. These reactions are incredibly gross.

 

Again, in the context of what this thread has turned into why was it posted here?

 

my guess? just showing an effect that this behavior has had on people in the community.

 

seriously, jesus fucking christ i didn't want to like, say that straight up but i was hoping people knew how to read and interpret situations

 

because they toured with a band that was dropped and it directly talks about everything that's happened in the last few weeks?

 

As far as the Knuckle Puck thing goes, Joe had tweeted "I was 10, they were 3x my age #MeToo". Sounds like some of what was happening on his own tour brought up some repressed stuff from his childhood. I think starting to assume certain bands are predatory is VERY dangerous thinking. I've seen careers ruined because of assumptions that turned out to be false.

 

what worries me is this is the thought people immediately jumped too.. they didn't even bother trying to interpret the post they just saw "a context of something" and didn't even bother using their brains to figure out what it could or couldn't mean... Remember its still up to you to gather facts and determine events and make opinions on things not blindly jump to conclusions.

 

What? What on earth are you talking about? When a new girl came out saying she was hurt by Jesse did you say, "Oh well maybe she's an abuser too," or did you understand that discussing who has been a victim of this behavior and how it affects them and the scene and how people handle themselves is exactly why we're still talking??

 

Exactly, it sounds like victim blaming if you assume the worst about KP.
