I was always certain it really was

“Take apart the demon that bring the addict to the bed.”

 

I have never heard this, it would seem extremely out of character (not that I personally know anyone in the band) but I also think this thread might not the place to speculate on random musicians that **might** be shitty based vague memories of a secondhand recollection

 

I think I might know what band is and it's part of the Diaz posts. I was sort of confused on what people were talking about there but if Jason isn't saying the victim might not be ready to come forward or is more complex than that. Not saying shit either, since when I read some stuff there I was like ??? at that post.

 

lmao no like im pretty sure that happened and a bunch of people on ap got mad and said they were boycotting the band then one of the other members apologized on twitter for it or something

 

I'm not finding anything about this...anywhere. If that person came forward with their story (or someone else with a similar experience), I would definitely listen. I just find it tough to believe based on not being able to find a single story, tweet or apology referencing it online.

I'm just surprised I wouldn't have seen/remembered a news or forum post about it on AP

Yes, Ari Cristos or something like that told that story. He was with a Arabian/Middle Eastern friend and they hung out with Andy and Kevin Devine. Andy bummed a cigarette off of them and didn’t finish it. His friend pointed that out and Andy, who was drunk, used a slur against him and walked away. Kevin apologized for that and followed Andy.

 

Damn, I never heard about this. Any chance you remember when it happened? That's disappointing, especially if he never addressed it.

 

This was a few years back, he told it at the height of The Clique on AP, so probably around 2010-2012 if I had to guess. It really bummed me out and I haven’t really listened to the band since.

I apologize for being skeptical about your posts. I was frustrated with your tone at the time, surprised I'd never heard about it and now I'm disappointed in an artist I looked up to. Just gonna dip if I'm not welcome.

 

@fame, you don’t need to act like that. He didn’t know of that story and there is no reason for you to rub that in his face or hold it over his head like he’s an asshole.

 

idk man, i asked a legitimate question and a moderator responded by telling me that "this is not the place to speculate". 4 people liked that post (because, idk, i guess all 5 of them really like manchester orchestra and don't want to think of the singer being a racist or something?). then after your post he went back and edited his post to say "I also think this thread might not the place to speculate" instead and added "I'm just surprised I wouldn't have seen/remembered a news or forum post about it on AP" to another post

very subtle edits, but it now makes my original posts look more irrationally hostile and his more rational by removing the context

 

I get that but still, you don’t need to hold that over his head. He didn’t know and was worried that it would start a speculative mess, I can’t blame him for feeling that way considering how things are right now. If I was to intervene, I’d say that it’s out in the open, we can’t change it any further so let’s lay this to rest and move on. Fighting each other isn’t going to solve a damn thing. If anything, let’s all be mindful of things people don’t know in the future, so we don’t end up making a mess bigger than it needs to be.

 

I was echoing sentiments that I don't think this thread is a great place to speculate, and the "lmao" in your post rubbed me the wrong way. After @DarkHotline 's post, I felt guilty for being so skeptical at first. Wasn't trying to make you look more hostile. I apologize for editing my post.

I think his wife has implied on instagram that her son might be trans, so Jesse’s stepson.

He’s still young though so I don’t know if the particular picture and comments I’m thinking of were meant to indicate he is trans or is just an ally.

She also posted a picture of them at one of the big protests...the Women’s march, mybe?
