Yeah and CoD got there because it became this insane showpiece with MW.

Not enough people want to buy a mediocre looking Star Wars game for 60€. Games like that have "flopped" in the past. E.A. has a game for people that don't care about power: their Star Wars mobile game, which makes an incredible amount of money.

 

That’s the thing. That is not going to change. You can clearly see with the PS4 Pro and ONE X they are really trying to enhance the visual output(among other things of course). It would be nice to have it both ways and have the machine do all the work.

 

I don't feel like that was based on graphics though. I don't think the first MW looked incredible or anything it was just a very good game. Honestly I don't think COD has ever been that impressive graphically.

 

WWII looks really impressive on the ONE X. Is it the best? No. I’ll reserve that for games like Gears 4 and Battlefront II at this point. But it still looks pretty damn good.

ha, I own/love Gravity Rush.

Honestly, it'd be really interesting to see where all the money goes, but I'd love hear from you why Nintendo is so "different".

One game I highly recommend people check out when and if they get a ONE X is Metro Last Light. I just want to stare at the grass for days.

 

Last week there were all kinds of signs in Japan saying the new X Box was sold out. The sales numbers are pretty funny.

This is why people need to understand that something “selling out” isn’t a metric for success.

They had released an article before (and we talked about it) that they only had enough to fill preorders.

 

Do people buy X Box is Japan for the exclusives? With as little as they sell over there, I can't see what market they have at all. Clearly there is a niche market, but with Sony's dominance and a lack of Japanese produced exclusives, what reason do any Japanese folks have to buy it?

I'm not trying to knock the system, I'm genuinely curious.

 

I can’t speak for the ONE X because they arent region specific anymore but I know on the 360 there were a ton of Japanese exclusive version of games and Japanese made Xbox’s. My cousin lives there right now and he had said the video game market there is very different than the states in that console wars aren’t really a thing and they pretty much embrace it all.

Well, they clearly sold quite a few preorders.

 

But it wasn't very many. They'll never be hugely successful in Japan. Japanese people like Japanese games, and Microsoft will never be able to compete with Sony and Nintendo on that front.

It's true. Look up lists Of The best selling games ever in Japan and all of them are Japanese.
