Have you listened to Elsewhere and/or their Audiotree session?

I've listened to/watched the Audiotree session and like it a lot! I also saw them play with Into It Over It and TWIABP last year and they played a good set. Haven't listened to Elsewhere but I will today. I guess I'm just not sure if I can put them in my top current bands list at the moment.

@Kingjohn_654 the board members are not happy, and the stock is already dropping on Wall Street. This is very bad.

 

I think that's fair. For me, they don't have enough material to put them in my top current bands, but if they knock it out of the park on their new album that will quickly change.

I just put on Elsewhere myself. I think they're a band that takes it to another level in their live performances (even though I've never seen them in person).

 

Would anyone be interested in me doing one tomorrow?

 

I agree on the not enough material point. There's a few artists/bands in my current AOTY list that I feel similarly about (e.g. Phoebe Bridgers, Alex Lahey, Vagabon). I'm excited to see what Pinegrove does next though

Yes, I'm Mormon. I'm currently drinking a Mountain Dew as I type this.

Dating life was fine. I wasn't great at it. Until I met my wife, i didn't really have any solid relationships, but flings, dates, and crushes were mostly with non-Mormons.

I'd love to go back to Portugal. I was a missionary there for two years. There's still big chunks of the country that I haven't seen. And my Portuguese could use some practice.

I'd feel really guilty spending $1k on myself without my family. I'd probably pay John Nolan to write me a song.

I don't like animals because they make me uncomfortable. I'm afraid of dogs, for example.

Good answers. I thought Mormons couldn’t have caffeine for some reason. Perhaps it’s not that stringent of a rule.

What about other animals? If your kids want animals, will you allow it?

So that was a weird rumor for a while, like even lots of Mormons believed it for a long time. I grew up drinking caffeine. My dad is a big Dr. Pepper guy, as was his dad. So I always was confused when I’d hear people say Mormons couldn’t have caffeine... cause I always did.


I know this AMA is for @Kingjohn_654 so I apologize for answering on his behalf

 

Interesting. My ex, who grew up in Utah, perpetuated this rumor

 

I am the furthest thing from a Mormon, although I have seen The Book of Mormon, but Google turned up this:

Yeah so i have no idea where this thing started. Like I had friends tell me I wasn’t supposed to drink caffeine when I was a kid but i was always like “uhhh my whole family does so I don’t know what you’re on about”. But the rumor persisted so long that yeah the church’s spokespeople came out and were like “yeah caffeine is fine dudes” and yet, BYU didn’t start offering caffeinated drinks on campus till this year.... weird.
