I feel nauseous after reading that Pitchfork article. Not much I can say anymore. Just sickened by what Jesse has done and I admire the strength of the survivors so much. Difficult to take my mind off everything and I'm overwhelmed

I know we all know this, but I am so tired of seeing people say shit like, "why couldn't she just shut off her computer? He couldn't force her to watch." One of my ex girlfriends was in an abusive online relationship for nearly three years. He would scream at her over the phone and she couldn't "just hang up" because she was frozen with fear that if she hung up, he would revoke privileges or contact, and would rescind his offers of actually hanging out irl. When you're being abused, you don't really have much of an option.

 

Everyone is talking about how me vs maradonna vs Elvis related to his actions but what really disgusts me is how he wrote Sic Transit and did these things.

 

People victim blaming always happens. It's so sickening

While looking around online trying to see if other rumors/stories for bands are out there, I have discovered there is a SHOCKING amount of fanfiction/erotic fanfiction about bands on the internet.

Like ... holy shit it's everywhere.

If you search for basically any band name here you'll find dozens DOZENS of fanfiction about bands or band members and I don't even understand what this is.

Long time lurker here, only really posted regularly in AP's Shone thread (ha). Hello.

I hope this is okay to post here, apologies if not. Out of sheer frustration (and after a weekend of deleting my own tweet threads on an hourly basis) I set up a gofundme to donate to RAINN.

I know a few people were considering donating to 'em already, just thought this might be a good way to bring it to the attention of people who otherwise wouldn't. Plus, I'm in Glasgow, so I know a lot of people in the UK about to receive show refunds who might want to do some good with it (RAINN just felt like the right charity in light of the past few days). Just a heads up, in case anyone feels like donating or sharing. Or needed a reminder to donate directly.

Anyway. I'm really still trying to process all this, particularly having spent my teens hanging around bands and knowing that plenty of dudes tried to prey on that vulnerability. In awe of survivors - it takes unthinkable courage to put your story out there knowing full well the kind of pushback you'll receive. I doubt I'll ever listen to BN again knowing the destructive behaviour behind those songs.

 

The 1975 ones are wild also don’t look at the top to see who wrote them if it says “CoffeeEyes17” just ignore that there’s other people with my username it definitely wasn’t me that did that google.com how to clear browser history and delete cookies
